RoP Challenge 20 - Colour challenge

Whoppee!! Another week has flown, my goodness how does time fly?? :) We really need to make the most of each day that God gives us!



Moreover two weeks passed from the last RoP challenge, and thank you.. we had such lovely response and great creations! Thank God for Random Integer, otherwise it would be a torture having to choose from the enormous talent out there! Yesterday a fresh challenge started, I'm sorry I was busy to post it then. Also in the evening I'm getting rather tired.. dunno the cause!



Anyway.. enough talk.. onto the challenge :) This week it was talented Susan's turn to choose the theme. Susan LOVES colour challenges, and boy did I love this combo!
for this challenge she wanted to see cards with :

Lavender, Soft Blue and Cream!

Now here comes the challenge's rules. Please read carefully if you intend to participate (which I highly recommend as the prize is GREAT!) **Please read these details carefully as the qualifying stamp companies have changed! We will no longer be taking Sarah Kay or Rachelle Anne Miller stamps in our challenges as I can no longer carry them in my store. The only qualifying brands of stamps that can be used now are: Belles 'n Whistles, Magnolia, Alota, Greeting Farm OR Bildmalarnas (*NEW to Roses on Paper!*) stamp in order to qualify!**

This is the sample card I did for this challenge. I used Ballerina Anya, she is cute, and even though it is not one of their most recent releases, but my hand keeps reaching out for it. I love her cuteness, and I had people ask me whether I intend to make Ballerina Cards again (they buy them a lot here, as we have quite a lovely number of children who choose to do Ballet lessons.. or their mothers choose.. lol)

I coloured her in Copics and used Stickles for Bling. I cut out the image and mounted her on a nestie shape, using glue on the left hand side, and mini foam pads on her lifted for and arm on the right hand side. She looks like she's really dancing.

Look at this photo, it shows the dimension this gave to Anya.


By the way, before I mounted the image on the nestie shape, I inked the background with Mulled Lavender Distress Ink, leaving the nestie die on so that I leave a white border. Next I did some faux stitching around.








The inside is simple, yet effective. I used that strip of embossed flowers, luckily it had the three colours I needed! Lucky indeed :)




I must be off now... there are kids to feed, and chores to do.. and NEW images to colour!!

ROP DT- Challenge 13- A Colour Challenge

Hello everyone! I'm sorry.. I was a bad Blogger this week! I made this DT card.. one only! I had some commisioned cards to do for Pentecost, but otherwise I didn't make any others. Anyway.. finally here. I missed your visits here, coming to find some comments, and coming over to pay you a visit :) I hope you are all in good health! So.. we have launched another Roses on Paper challenge. Here comes the details:

I used my Rockstar Anya for this card. I have some kids' birthdays later this year, and I want to be prepared. Isn't she cool? :) I made this card using Friday Sketcher's sketch for this week. I made two octagons, and for a fun change, instead of leaving them joined from the side, I cut them, and threaded ribbon through eyelets in the sides. The middle panel is made from a piece of music paper I printed from the PC; which is then matted on pink paper. I tore the edges and distressed with Old Paper Distress Ink. I used bling and pearls as there are some more fun challenges this week wanting these on creations. Anya's guitar is coloured with glitter pens, and it really shines I can tell you! Furthermore I added big drops and green stars, and highlighted the image using white gel pen. As you can see I made an inked oval behind Anya and popped her with foam pads on it :) I could do this with my friend Jacque's generosity! THANK YOU Jacque.. God bless your kind heart.

The sentiment on the front says "You ROCK my world" , and it continues on the inside "...and you give me joy and happiness".





I used mini round pearls and Fiskars border punch to decorate, and some round shapes as well. I hope you like it, and I thank you for the kind comments you leave me. I can never express enough how much these make my day.. and by a simple comment you are able to put a huge, wide smile on my face... JUST LIKE ANYA'S!!! :)

Shop till you... Drop!!!

Hello everyone?! Had a lovely weekend? Or having.. for those who are some hours behind me?! Mine was fabulous, got some time to play, and some more to rest and pray, so it couldn't get any better! :) Today I want to share with you this queen of beauty.. what you think of her?

She's having some fab time.. shopping and shopping.. till.. she drops something! A girly card, isn't it? I decided to use lavender, purple and green as main colours. Purple is my favourite colour, but funnily enough I don't use it often in my creations. Anyone knows why?? :)






I used some papers that were gently sent to me some months ago, this cutie Anya stamp, and Friday Sketchers' sketch. I added lots of bling, and emellishments on this one. I added some stitching on the panels for some more movement.. and I did move! Can't get straight stitching! Something else I need help for! :)

On the inside I kept the same scale in colour. I added that cute sentiment from a craft cD, some more embellies.. and a shoe that Anya must have dropped from her stuffed bags! :)

Miss Anya's Four times challenge

Yay!! I managed to fit my new Miss Anya into four challenges!! This is my first time that I managed to make a four-challenge-combo card. Last time it was three! :) So.. this is for A Spoon Full of Sugar, where the challenge is a color combo - Blue and Green, then we have Cute Card Thursday - they want something shiny on cards. Another challenge it was done for is the Sketch and Stash challenge - I used the sketch provided and my new stash is the stamp set that Miss Anya is part of.. and last but not least Cupcake C Challenges (hello friends!!) where the challenge is 5 different embellishments on the card; mine are: flowers, brads, beads, spacer and gems.. I also have dewdrops.. so that makes it 6!!! :) lol





Isn't Miss Anya cute? Her bit of make-up and her earrings has made of her a sassy teenager :) don't you think?
I'm off because I have a meeting this evening :( grrr.. but later I will start something else.. here I come challenges!! I'm fully charged for more!! :) Just had coffee, so I'm energetic !




This is an inside view!

Thank God for nesties, they really rock!! Can never get enough of them. Everytime I use them I like the effect they give, and the time they save you is lovely!

These lovely stamps can be purchased form Summer's store, they are a beauty to colour in, and there are a few left, so grab 'em while you can!! :) Obviously I used my Distress inks to colour.. they are a beauty everytime!



A detail of the embossed flower and the primas. I added a brad (actually there are two, the smaller brad is Basic Grey) and put some shiny Tim Holtz stickles for some bling. I also added some funky beads for a unique look.

Ballerina Anya - 3 Challenge Combo

Okay - this week my Greeting Farm stamps arrived - thank you Summer!! your service is outstanding!! Woo hoo... I love this cute Ballerina girl. It was a pleasure to colour with my Distress inks.




I succeeded to make a 3 challenge combo with this card - Stamp Something : Their challenge is to make something that has either showers or flowers or both! Then Our Creative Corner : they left us to chooseto make a project with our favourite colour combo .. and lately it is green and pink:) (even though this is more salmon like kindof colour) and I also used Basic Grey's Sketch for this week (I only cheated a teent weeny bit by turning the image a bit sideways)sorry!
Ain't I a good girl?! :)

I LOVE the softness of this card, and how much it shines. The stickles on the flower, the shiny satin salmon ribbon, the pearls on the pin and the glitter pens that I used on certain areas of the image has created such a lovely effect :)

I used my mini sewing machine to go around the image and the panels of DP behind it.. but not all of them turned out that straight :) I'm a night owl when it comes to cardmaking, so I'm not always in a position to "see straight" lol!




The flowers I used are a mixture of prima, and a silver flower (in the middle) I had purchased form a shop that sells wedding garments accessories. The brad and the buttons are Basic Grey. In the bottom right hand side of the card I used a K&Co corner, and the sentiment is a rub on. I couldn't fit one in the corner, as the sketch shows.





For the inside I punched a Fiskars heart border, and used the same Dp. I don't know the name of these papers, I'm sorry!

Tomorrow is a Public Holiday here and I'll be heading for a Fun Day with the kids (till 2.30pm). They have fun and water games, penalty shoot outs, football and lots of activities. they can also use the games room with playstations, billiard, table tennis etc.. Thet get to meet their friends there , and I can also help out with a fund raising car wash that is held there. Have a good day my friend :) Weekend is so very near! :)

You're my Hero

For the weekend Club Anya has made a "Case the card" contest. we had to case this gorgeous card by Mercy. She's a very talented lady, and has a lot of beautiful creations. I chose to work my first card with Batter Ian, a digi stamp from TGF. I just love this guy, he seems so smart and determined.. he's my Hero!! :) lol



I had the perfect papers for this card. These are a couple of 8 x 8 papers a friend of mine had sent me in a RAK, she could't see how she can use them... but I did! So I'm just so thank ful she sent them to me instead of binning them. Thanks hun! :)





I added dimension to this guy by popping an extra cap and body. I did this by gluing the top part and used large glue dots in the bottom part of the cap. The number "8" is an element sticker from Basic Grey Urban Prarie 12inch pack. Obviously, I went with lots of dots and faux stitching with black and white pens. Some buttons, square brads and fibres to embellish... and voila!! My Hero is finished!! :)

The inside is done by the rest of what was left out from the teo papers I had used on the front. I finished with a rub on sentiment on the inside, and a computer generated one for the front. Colour Challenge- Roses on Paper

Well, here comes our 10th Challenge - already!! Wow how time flies when you're having a good time! :) It's Susan 's turn to set our challenge and she decided on a colour challenge:

Aqua, Peach and Butter Yellow.

I admit it was a bit of a challenge for me; I don't use these colours together usually.. but then it seemed to have turned cute. Like I had hinted yesterday, I used another Greeting Farm stamp for this card: my Nurse Anya.




She seems always so calm and serene, so I gave her the title "Love is the best Medicine"! :) Isn't that true??

I always feel so much better after a good hug..or a good deed inspired by love; don't you? :)




I left the inside plain, but using the same set of nesties, to keep the same design.

A Whale of a Great Catch!

Hello friend! Right for a Sunday Special.. here comes my dear Fisherman Ian.. just back from a whale of a catch! lol I'm using the "whale" because of the charm I used on the card :) I made this card for The Greeting Farm CCC3 Contest. We had to case Jessica's card, which you can see here. I decided to use this darling Ian, he was filing to get inky, and I thought that today was the right time for him :)

I first stamped Ian twice: one on watercolour paper (which I have thanks to my lovely friend Susan! Thanks hun xx),and another on another type of cardstock, which is not that good for water-based colouring. On this latter image, I sponged the background and left to dry. I coloured the other Ian, and also the stairs (a Magnolia image). Then I cut around him, and cut off the fish; seperating them in the process. One of them, as you can see, I pop-dotted it to add dimension.




Finally I mounted everything, making a cute mini-scene for my cutie fisherman.He seems so pleased with his catch! :) Jessica herself will decide the winning card, on Friday 24th.. if you want to join in the fun. In the link I gave you in the beginning of this post you can find all the details. You can use any GF stamp. By the way... if you would like to purchase these stamps, Summer has them in her store. She is always adding the new ones that are released each month.





The bottom sentiment, is one that came with this Rock the Farm set, and the round upper sentiment is Stampin 'Up. I added brown embroidery thread, and that whale charm, which I found at a pound shop. I can tell you I was over the moon finding some charms there, as they are not commonly found here :)





The papers are Papermania, and a piece of Basic Grey as well. On the inside I printed a sentiment from my computer on a piece of cardstock, and stamped that flourish to finish. I also added some dewdrops for a "manly" touch, hehe. No flowers.. aggghr! Colouring meduim: Distress inks and reinkers.

Angelic Wishes- CCC1

Over at The Greeting Farm Blog there is an ongoing challenge called The Case of The Curious Card. They chose a card... this time it's Kristine's card..which you'll find here and we have to case it; thus making a different card with the same layout. My take on this challenge is today's card.





I have used teal and pink as my main colours, and Angel Anya is the VIP in here :)
I used Distress inks and refillers to colour her in, and crystal stickles for her wings. I also gave her some polka dots. To embelllish I used element stickers from Urban Prarie Basic Grey, which obviously match the same DP.





Then I stamped the teal satin ribbon with some swirls, and also the upper right hand corner of the card.. like Kristine's. I added some self- adhesive gems, and also decorated the inside with the same papers.I REALLY enjoyed myself putting up this card. There are some lovely entries.. but I would really love to win!! :) Fingers crossed. Kristine herself will choose the winner!
