Wedding Card for Sugar bowl Challenge

Hello there!!! How are my best evah blogging friends?? I missed you this week :)) I'm back from the 5 day retreat, gosh I needed the break, the quiet and peaceful surroundings, some cool air and lots of time to think, pray and share with my sisters. But I missed being here :) Well I have the weekend here, just before I take the kids to vacation next week. THANK YOU all for the lovely messages I found waiting for me, big hugs to all those who left me the comments :) It's always a warm feeling knowing that someone has thought of you while you were away! Thanks again.

I finished this commisioned card just before i left last Sunday. I took the photos quickly, but was already very late, so I couldn't write the post here to be published during the week. That was my wish.. but!! :)
Anyway, I had to this wedding card for one of the kids' teachers, who wanted a wedding card with lots of black & white, a hint of pink (okay I made some more than just a hint.. but it's very soft), and that particular Gorjuss image! :) Here is what I came with! :) What do you think of her?

She is one of my favourite Gorjuss girls:) I used the Sugar bowl sketch that is this fortnight's challenge, lovely sketch Lilian :) Sorry that I slanted a bit the two smaller squares! I'm very predictable in this!! :)

I wanted to use this lovely pink flower, that goes very well with wedding cards, and made the Gorjuss girl's dress glimmer with the diamond stickles. I typed the sentiment with Edwardarian Script on the computer, and matted it with nesties. The papers I used are from Papermania Regency A4 paper pack. The colours I used for the girl are Tim Holtz distress inks and I also distressed the edges with Tattered Rose ink.

On the inside I created this small image with the PC on photo paper, and matted it with black and then silver cardstock. Then a larger piece of spotted black paper, and finally the heart border on black cardstock. I added the wedding rings, and voila!! :)

On the other side, as you can see, I put a message, which I also matted and embellished. I used some pearls, white on the outside, salmon on the inside. They added a romantic touch in the card :) The teacher was really pleased with the result. I hope that the recipient will be as much pleased with it as well :)

I hope that I will hear from you, even a simple comment will do. Just know that it really makes my day! By the way, I found the Magnolia horse stamp I won from Bev (from Simon Stamp candy) waiting for me ! Yay! Thanks Heidi!! And thanks Bev!

Shine - Whiff of Joy Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!! I hope you had a lovely week, and that this weekend will be a fab one for you. Quite a quick post today, as I have lots of things to finish before going for a retreat on Sunday. I will be missing you all, but hopefully I will come back to find some comments and news from you, showing me that you came here all the same:) I will be here till tomorrow evening, then will be back Friday evening. I will keep you all in my humble prayers :) Nonetheless I will try to finish two commisions before tomorrow, and if I do ..(keep fingers crossed for me) I will try to leave automated posts for during the week to keep you company *wink*

This card is for Whiff of Joy's challenge this week. The theme is paper piecing, and I used this darling Willow for this week. Do you remember her? She is still a fave of mine, maybe because of her long dress, where you can shade and have loads to colour. Even though I paper pieced her dress, I still added some green shading, to bring out the folds and the light where the lamp's light is on :) I also used a white gel pen for some highlights, as you can see.

I also played wirh some roses and adhesive gem stones for that soft and elegant touch. Funnily enough, the ribbon changed its colour in the photos. Maybe because of the shine. IRL it coordinates very well. I also added machine stitching, and the sketch was done by myself this time. I will try to make this sketch into a diagram if you like it when I come back.

Katharina is making a DT call over at the challenge blog, so I will try my luck in this as well. Maybe my style will be liked this time, it's harsh competition out there. But all I know is that I ADORE Elisabeth Bell's designs, so I put a lot of care in drawing the images. I keep on adding shades and colour till I'm satisfied with the result :)

A detail of the colouring

For this used the gorgeous Papermania Signiture Regency Papers. They come in A4 size, so with each paper you have enough to use for the inside as well. To get the delish design out, I left the inside panel as simple as possible. And don't they coordinate perfectly?? I alos like their canvas-like texture. They are quite thich, so they have this lovely feel.

I ebellished with some Basic Grey buttons, and used a Martha Stewart doily lace punch (yeah still punching with my feet :))with that!

I made a jotting piece on the inside as well, making some rub on words to compliment the sentiment I made on the outside. Do you like those flowers and swirls? I made those with a Ppapermania stamp, and I inked it up with a fluid chalk inkpad. I love the soft feel it gave, and as you can see I added mini rhinestones on some flower centres.

Off now to begin something else! I have lots of ironing and curtain folding to do today! Boo!! :)

By the way, last but not least, don't forget to pop on Simon Says DT blogs today.. remember? It is Saturday, so they all have a stamp for grabs!! :)

A side view of the card. Note the swirl I made with three sizes of gemstones, one is on the uppeer right hand corner of the card, the other swirl is coming out from behind the paper roses.

Just... Wild!

Hello my friend. How is your week going? Mine is not bad, but dear me... time is really flying off my hands!! hehe I wish each day was longer than it actually is right now!! I will be away for a 5 day retreat next week, so I'm trying to do as much work as I can before (as I'll be having refurbishment and painting in the flat the week after next,I have to clear away everything). I wish to enter some challenges before that as well.. we'll see! :)

Meanwhile today I managed to finish off this card , which is built on Michelle's sketch for A Spoon Full of sugar. Thanks Michelle dear, I had fun using it. Sorry i made the main image a bit slanting, I liked it better this way, this card being for a boy! You know.. you do see often boys who keep things straight and clean!! :)) The ones in my care don't at least!! :)

I used Skater Ian for this one. Isn't he gorgeous? I love how much fun he seems to be having! He's Wild I say!! I'm also participating with Simon Says Stamp's One Year Celebration with this one! Happy Birthday to you all!! You're such a fab team! Thanks for the lovely challenges you give us, and the wonderful prizes and candies you generously give away for grabs Heidi :) I was over the moon when I won Bev's stamp last Monday! Thanks xx

One of the inside panels. I left some white jotting space, for any personal message to the recipient.

This is another angle of the card. I used the gorgeous Papermania Jesse Papers for this one. Aren't they delish? Coloured Ian with my Distress Inks, but other than distressing I kept it quite clean, being a boy card. I added a couple of buttons and chocolate and mint Dewdrops on the inside, and a fabric badge and some other dewdrops on the outside. The letters forming "Wild" come from a HOTP alphabet tiles book. I'm off for some sleep now, I'm sooo Zzz :)

Close up of the colouring and shading

Thanks for the love you choose to leave in some comment. Both me and Ian would be delighted to hear from you! Don't forget my challenge at Roses on Paper this fortnight. There are some entries already.. and it's combined.. so you have NO excuses this time ;) AND.. you'll be in for the last chance at participating for the GDT call Summer id doing for the soon coming Belles and Whistles!! How lovely is that? :)

Big hugs to each of you.

Flowers and Combined Challenge- ROP

Hello my friend!! I hope you had a wonderful weeked... cause that will mean that you're ready for a new week; and all it brings with it. This we can do with God's help. It is Monday, so that means that we're also ready for a Roses on Paper Challenge. This time it is hosted by me :) I have chosen the simple theme of flowers.. how easy is that? You can put paper flowers, foam cut flowers.. any you want. You can also have flowers on the DP, or image. Or both!

But I am also asking you to combine this challenge with another of your choice (or more than one if you wish). I love combining challenges! You get a double - or triple participation, less time and you can enter various themes, combined with a sketch! Awesome! I want to see some of your lovely ideas out there!

I have chose to use this Magnolia stamp for my Thank you card. I picked up my new Wisteria Paper pad and brads, and chose Sketch Saturday's sketch for my layout, I loved how versatile it is. Also it leaves room for different interpretations, and styles.. and embellishments. I have chosen two other challenges to enter this card: Our Creative Corner this week wants to see us use our border punches. Just Magnolia wants us to paper-piece our image. So I did both! I paper-pieced Tilda's top and part of the shoes! Isn't she cute, all in purples, and lilacs?

I used Mulled Lavender and Dusty concord Distress inks for her hair bands, shoes and background. I also used the deep purple for distressing the edges. For her jeans I used Weathered Wood and Faded Jeans. Quite a lot of bling on my card this week :) I used Stickles on the flowers, and also embellished with Bling-It Basic Grey Rhinestones. Aren't they yummy? :) If you click on the links, they will take you directly to Summer's stores, where you'll find these beautiful must- haves!

I continued the same colour scheme on the inside, and put in some quotes and more rhinestones to embellish. I hope that you like it, and that you get to participate with me. I'd be honored to have your entry.. and don't forget, you get to enter for our Belles and Whistles Guest Designer position! :)) So pop over on our challenge blog. Summer will be soon posting the challenge and the details there. You need also to check our my talented fellow DT members.. they outdone themselves once more! :)

Have a lovely week my friend :)

Happy Saturday! - Whiff of Joy entry

Happy Saturday my friend! I hope you are having a quiet and tranquil weekend. I have a card to share with you today. It is an entry for the Whiff of Joy Challenge Blog. There is this lovely sketch, designed by talented Bev. I had to try it out! :) I had fun using this Willow image that was sent to me! Thank you hunny.. you know who you are!! I really appreciated the images! :)

I also had to use the new Papermania papers I bought last weekend from Gozo.. these Blueberry Hill papers are delish indeed!! The soft blue roses are so dreamy, and the Weathered Wood, Broken China, Scattered Straw and Antique linen Distress Inks really fit in well with the colour scheme. I glued Willow on the oval die cut from the bottom, and foam popped her from the waist up for more ral life look, and dimension.

I love the effect this gives to the image. I embellished with some pearls that complimented the soft coloured card, and made a band of lace on top of some ribbon behind the nesties. I distressed with ink all the papers, and the brownish flower as well. For the brown flower's centre, I used a blue centre kiss from Prima

For the round sentiments I used the circle of friendship round set, also used it on the inside with a different saying. Also for the inside I used some coordinating papers, not the Blueberry ones, I'm sorry but couldn't make myself tear more up for the inside!! :)

The small flowers above the lace are punch-outs, and I used Basic Grey brads, which always make a card more beautiful. I love those brads! Willow wants to say hi to you as well, and she wishes you the best! She would like to thank you in advance for the time you spent here with her, and mostly for those who leave her a comment. She sends you some of the flowers in her hand :)

This is a detail of the colouring. Sorry for some blotches in the face that show when you make the image bigger. They don't show IRL, they come out because I use water-based inks on regular cardstock.

Hopefully will be back tomorrow or Monday.. this time for another Roses on Paper Challenge for you to have fun with!

Two challenge combo card - ROP DT

Today I would like to share with you a card I made for another challenge combo :) Do you remember this pretty, charming fella from Magnolia Elf Collection? I just LOVE his whimsical, one-sided smile.. he's so darn cute! And with that butterfly background behind him.. he's so sweet, don't ya think? :)

I made this card using the lovely sketch that sweet and sooo talented Rach did for Just Magnolia. If anyone of you hasn't visited Rachel's blog.. I warn you.. you're missing soo much!! Her blog is part of my daily fix! Thanks Rach for all the inspiration you sharewith us all! :)

I just loved this sketch, and luckily enough I had already coloured the images for another challenge.. which then I didn't have time to finish! (It was the birthday sketch for Sketch Sautrday!!) Any way, I used it here, matted with Basic Grey Cupcake and Marrakech bright papers. I jusy love the reds and blues together lately!!

Also Spoon Full of sugar challenge this week is Butterflies - having at least one butterfly in your creation. Well I have some behind my dear Alf.. and a butterfly charm dangling there from the ribbon. I am not using charms very often nowadays! They are sooo hard to find here, so I treasure the few I have just like diamonds!!! hehe Silly me!!

The Magnolia images are coloured in Distress inks, and the sentiment is from a stamp I found that cost me only one euro! Lovely :)

On the inside I carried the sketch again on one of the panels, leaving a jotting white area, and on the other I made a smaller part of the image. I loved how this card turned out. It's bright and very cheerful! :)

BIG hugs to you my dear friend... and I hope that you're having a bright and cheerful week yourself! :) I'm still benefitting from the energy I have now, after the little break I took!! Thank you for any comments or e mails you send me.. I appreciate each and one of you immensely! Thanks for your constant support!

Last but not least ... actually this is the best part! Don't forget the GDT call for Summer's new line of stamps coming next month. These are the Belles & Whistles, designed by the very talented Elisabeth Bell. For more info visit our ROP Challenge Blog. Don't forget that we are having a colour challenge over there ,and that you have still till next Sunday to enter. Next week's challenge will be hosted by me! Good luck!

Absolutely Wonderful!

That's how my weekend was, and that was Sonya's sketch this week for a Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. I'm sorry I was away for another week since I last blogged, but I had a very busy week, and I was offered a weekend break in our sister island, Gozo :) Definitely I had to say yes :) There were 7 of us, but we had such a great time! I definitely needed some me-time, and had some time to play as well. I got to visit the island's lovely craft shop : Binky Crafts. Made quite some shopping over there as well ; It is also an online shop for international customers, so if you want to take a peek, you'll find some goodies there as well.

Anyway, I did this card while I was there. Thanks Sonya for the lovely sketch.Unfortunately yesterday when I came back I had to clear all the things I had with me, and in the evening I was too tired to blog this card. Now I'm too late for the challenge!! Luckily I decided to go for the pink and brown colour combo, as I really love it.. as it tastes "chocolatey" and also because it's Charizma cards' and ISB challenge's colour challenge for the week.. I'm still in time for this one though!! Thank you for the lovely and kind comments I found when I came back. It's always a pleasure to hear from all of you, and you always make my day!!
