Shabby Chic is the word!

Hello!

How was your week? Mine was a busy one, but thank God for good health, because while we are healthy we can do everything, bit by bit. Today I have another card to share with you, and as you can guess from the title, it is a shabby chic creation.


Today I used Oakley as Groom for my card. I had a commission for a Wedding card for the Groom, a young man who's getting married. This will be his younger sister's card. Men cards are difficult.. Wedding cards for Men.. even worse!! lol

I really have a hard time to choose paper, images.. AND embellishments! Men are SO complicated! So hard to please! lol

Well I decided to use Papermania Nostalgia Warm, as they have soft browns and light blue, a sort of Weathered Wood distress ink colour. In fact I used the ink to colour the image, and kept to that combo.








I hope that it is liked, I'm so uncertain when it comes to this types of cards! Amd I have one more to do! :) Wish me luck! But this time it is for the mother of the groom, to give it to her son. Maybe I will base more on the classical white this time.







This is a close up of the card, and you can see my funky old styled oil burner in the background. Isn't it cool? In the small kettle you put the water mixed with some droplets of scented oil, and it is really relaxing when that sweet smell starts filling the room when heated.


This is how I completed the inside, what do you think about it? Should I give it to her? Or not?? Desicions, desicions!!!!

Willow makes a three- fer

Hi all!!

Have you been looking forward for the weekend? Oh my, if you had a week like mine, you surely have been craving for it!! :) But finally it's here. Not that I have been free to play, mind you..but at least it's better now.. and I need to unwind!






I have this Wedding card to share with you today. I have made it with Creative Inspirations' sketch for this week, and then I realised it fits into other two challenges: Totally Gorjuss; who wants to see hearts, and Crafty Calendar Challenge, whose theme is : Flower Power.







I have coloured Willow with Distress inks on watercolour paper. I then matted on Core' dinatons cardsock, and used Papermania Colossial Warm papers as main DP.








The large red rose is a Magnolia flower, and the white flowers with pearls were in my stash. Fnally i added a couple of other half pearls, two other pink mini roses, "antique" coloured braid and a dangling shoe horse charm, from our local Craft Shop "Hobby World".


The round sentiment is a Studio G Clear stamp. Finally I added some Candy Cane Stickles for some shine. I'm glad I have finished this card in two days (on and off.. but better than the other.. which took me three) :) Lots of people ask me for Wedding cards, but I never had the right stamps. So thank you Sonja for making this possible for me. Big hugs and thanks :)


I sprayed the rose with Tattered Rose Glimmer mist, and then touched the edges with Candy Cane Stickles.

Bird- ay Wishes

Hello happy Friday everyone!

Finally I managed to finish another card that I can share with you. Lately I can't seem to be able to finish them without taking a couple of days!! Does it happen to you as well??






Today's card is done using one of the sketches there was for this week. BUT... I forgot which one ,and can't seem to find in anywhere!!! LOL . I used one of Whiff of Joy's latest images, they are cute.. obviously being designed by the wonderful Elisabeth Bell. Lovely set of images and sentiments.

The papers I used are Papermania, from the lovely A5 Regency paper pack. The polka dotted piece was in my left over stash. I coloured the image with Dstress inks and refillers, using watercolour paper. Finally I added some Fruit punch Stickles on her hair, and tried to make some designs on her dress with a white gel pen. But you should see my friend Lilian's work with designs on clothes.. she is AMAY-ZING!!





I distressed the papers with Aged Mahogany.. it gives them a warm effect, in my opinion.


Brads and red flowers are from my stash, even the lace. The Primas are from Roses on Paper Store. Wow.. what lovely flowers Summer has got!! Dewdrops are from her store as well, as also the Inks I used.








For the inside I stamped another image from the same set, the bird- house. This one was stamped on normal cardstock and coloured with Copics. I hope you like it and that you let me know what you think. I am very happy that you are here, and that you encourage me all the way.

Thinking sweet thoughts

Friday is here, and I'm hoping you had a safe and lovely week.. in good health and ready to relax a bit more for the weekend. I want to share a card that I made using Willow writing recipes, from Whiff of Joy. Here I'm pretending she's writing a letter, or a journal; while thinking about a special someone. Elisabeth's images are all lovely, and I had fun colouring this cute girl. I coloured her in Copics, and I made some patterns on her top. I had such fun embellishing this card, and I used Basic Grey's porcelain paper. Thiese are one of my favourites, because I love green and pinks together.









As for the border on the side of the image, I used Stempelglede Grunge border, and I stamped it using Worn Lipstick Ditress ink. I added fruit punch stickles,and both these you can find at Roses on Paper. Finally I added flowers from my stash and a couple of pearls. these are from Quixotic Paperie.







Sentiment is computer generated. For the inside I used some more of the same BG paper, and embellished with a 3D sticker, from American Crafts.









I hope you like it. I will enter this card for three other challenges (it's becoming a pattern, don't you think? :)

PCP Sketch Challenge meets Willow at ABC

Joyful Tuesday everyone!


I've been a member of this Sketch Challenge group at PCP for quite some months, but I'm always engeaged in a challenge or two; and have hardly played there. Yesterday I decided to join this week's sketch with ABC's Embossing Challenge. I used Whiff of Joy's lovely Willow, and I sat her in front of the embossed circle.







I've used quite bold colours this time, but the white lace flower, white organza ribbon and white and silver vintage button neutralised the colour scheme.









Paper I used is from June Bug pack from Basic Grey. The checked piece was lying in my scrap folder.Red buttons are also Basic Grey. I coloured Willow with Copics. The sentiment is also Whiff of Joy. Shine - Whiff of Joy Challenge

Happy Saturday everyone!! I hope you had a lovely week, and that this weekend will be a fab one for you. Quite a quick post today, as I have lots of things to finish before going for a retreat on Sunday. I will be missing you all, but hopefully I will come back to find some comments and news from you, showing me that you came here all the same:) I will be here till tomorrow evening, then will be back Friday evening. I will keep you all in my humble prayers :) Nonetheless I will try to finish two commisions before tomorrow, and if I do ..(keep fingers crossed for me) I will try to leave automated posts for during the week to keep you company *wink*

This card is for Whiff of Joy's challenge this week. The theme is paper piecing, and I used this darling Willow for this week. Do you remember her? She is still a fave of mine, maybe because of her long dress, where you can shade and have loads to colour. Even though I paper pieced her dress, I still added some green shading, to bring out the folds and the light where the lamp's light is on :) I also used a white gel pen for some highlights, as you can see.






I also played wirh some roses and adhesive gem stones for that soft and elegant touch. Funnily enough, the ribbon changed its colour in the photos. Maybe because of the shine. IRL it coordinates very well. I also added machine stitching, and the sketch was done by myself this time. I will try to make this sketch into a diagram if you like it when I come back.

Katharina is making a DT call over at the challenge blog, so I will try my luck in this as well. Maybe my style will be liked this time, it's harsh competition out there. But all I know is that I ADORE Elisabeth Bell's designs, so I put a lot of care in drawing the images. I keep on adding shades and colour till I'm satisfied with the result :)




A detail of the colouring

For this used the gorgeous Papermania Signiture Regency Papers. They come in A4 size, so with each paper you have enough to use for the inside as well. To get the delish design out, I left the inside panel as simple as possible. And don't they coordinate perfectly?? I alos like their canvas-like texture. They are quite thich, so they have this lovely feel.

I ebellished with some Basic Grey buttons, and used a Martha Stewart doily lace punch (yeah still punching with my feet :))with that!





I made a jotting piece on the inside as well, making some rub on words to compliment the sentiment I made on the outside. Do you like those flowers and swirls? I made those with a Ppapermania stamp, and I inked it up with a fluid chalk inkpad. I love the soft feel it gave, and as you can see I added mini rhinestones on some flower centres.

Off now to begin something else! I have lots of ironing and curtain folding to do today! Boo!! :)

Whiff of Joy takes Sketch Saturday

I'm tying to catch up on some lovely challenges around, and today I decided to use one of lovely Elisabeth's images.. so I checked Whiff of Joy's challenge; and it was a colour theme - Green!in honour of St.Patrick's Feast. So, not to lose time thinking what layout to use, I checked today's new Sketch Saturday challenge.. and I found this vesatile sketch to use.




I used some Basic Grey's Porcelain papers..Mmmm... lovely greens and pinks together... and voila!! Melinda blowing kisses.. to you!

Willow searching for New Year's Blessings

I really enjoyed doing this card. This Willow is inspiring me a lot, and I'm really pleased with the result! :) And you know what? It is Roses on Paper DT work, and it fits into four challenges! Yay! I had done cards that fitted into two, but four... this is the first! Don't you just love how sparkly she is?? :)
First I water-coloured the image, layer by layer.. leaving it to dry before adding depth and shadow( this was done for three times). When I was satisfied, I added sparkle with gel pen glitter colour from damp paintbrush. When that was dry, I covered the whole dress with 3D crystal lacquer. It really stands out!!
Now for the Challenges ;) Basic Grey.. is going green! :) They wants us to use recycled objects on our card (such as used cardboard, buttons etc.. and I used recycled cardboard for stamping.




My time to Craft wants to see the Colour Green in the card, Spoon Full of Sugar wants us to make a card for the New Year... and the sentiment goes with that. Cute Card Thursday wanted any card for any occasion... that was easy! So I will enter it for all!

All the highlighted materials are obviously a few among the gorgeous things you can find at Roses on Paper.. together with all the offers you get there.. such as the reward points tou add every time you purchase anything from Summer. These can be added till you can get a free stamp! so what you're waiting for!!?

Tip: To have a matching brad, use a gold or plain brad, punch a small piece of extra paper from the DP you're using in the card.. glue it on the brad. After you fix it in place, cover with 3D crystal lacquer and leave to dry :) Voila! You have a lovely matching brad! :)

Sweet Melinda Hugging Heart

Okay... this is the third time I'm writing this post, cause my computer keeps closing the Inernet window when I'm finished, and clearing everything while I'm making the last editing to then publish!!

Now this card already took me two days to fiish, now it's taking an hour to get it published!! :(
Don't know about you, but every time I try to make an aperture card, my mojo has a rest. I couldn't quite finish this card, I kept thinking to myself that it lacks something. Blah! Anyway, this lovely Melinda had to be entered for Basic Grey Challenge, but as you see I'm two days behind! But luckily I also had in mind Cute Card Thursday, as they want to see hearts.. and I have seven here; including the metal charm :)




I hope that those of you who had in mind to put up the tree this weekend has found the time to do so. I also hope that you also find the time and space to put up also a small(or large!) crib. Please do remember that all this decorating, giving, sharing and thinking of others is all about Jesus. One doesn't take all the energy to prepare a Birthday party, preparing mountains of food, music, presents, inviting friends.. and then leave the Birthday Boy/Girl outside the house, does he?? Do think about it!

I've coloured this cutie in watercolours, and softened the white around with Distress ink. I have added sparkle with silver glitter glue on the wings, hearts and flowers.
