Distress Inks Colouring and Grunge Photo Framing

Okay.. so this is my first image which I coloured with my new Distress inks. Do you like it?? YAY!! I just couldn't go to sleep without trying them on.. after stroking them quite a few times after Mr.Postie brought them in their new home :))

I decided to work on this HAnglar beauty after I decided on the papers I was going to use. It still has to be worked upon.. the background maybe.. amd then make the card..but I wanted to show it to you. I'm really having a blast with these inks.. I do wish I can colour with them everyday. I am thinking about making a tutorial if you're interested.. showing you the steps it took me to get it this way. I will see what response I'll get to this.. and move from there. Obviously this will be for those who are new to this technique, and would want to try them out for yourself. All the lovely Distress Ink Pads and Re-inkers can be purchased here, and they are cooler than Copics (many of the experts who tried both say).

Also I used this image to learn to frame my photos with Grunge frames. These are so cool, and give your photos another look. I found lovely tutorials at Kristine's Blog here.. I can tell you she's super talented, and a computer whizz for me!! She's soo good!! I need some practise.. but I managed to do it! YAY!!

Have a good day mt dear friend!! Blessings to you and your loved ones! :))

Rosalie's bicycle

Rosalie decided to go for a ride around the farm in her bike :) and she took her sweet pup with her! Oh how he barked at the animals he saw!! :)

I love these Sarah Kays.. they give me so much good memories of time I used to spend at a friend's farm in my childhood! Actually I stayed for three consecutive summers there! Life in the farm is busy, but so peacefel and merry. I used to enjoy myself so much. And I also enjoyed myself colouring this image. I experimented a bit with the background.. different from my usual way. Do you like it this way? I'd like some sincere feedback from you please. I used watercolours for colouring this image.

Most of the stuff in this card is from Summer's store. Roses on Paper carries also this line of stamps.. and I love them. You can find them here. You won't find this stamp in the actual list (as it's out of stock), but she has already ordered them.. so stay tuned and list it in your wishlist! :)
You will get to see more Sarah Kays from me.. whoever knows me well; knows that I adore these tender images! :)

Also if you notice, one of the papers I used (the one at the bottom half) has a lot of bicycles on it.. I almost buried it with the other layers.. but if you click on the picture, I think it will show more. It's form the Basic Grey Cupcake Paper pad. Even the gorgeous striped paper is from that pack. I embossed the green Core'dinations textured cardstock with the swirls and stars folder, and then brushed it with a nailfile to get out the core. I love this cardstock. Flowers are Primas and Papermania. The sentiment is Circle of Friendship from Stamin'Up and ribbon, Pearl brads and fibre from stash. The lovely dewdrops are also from Roses on Paper. Scalloped edge is done with the Doily Lace Martha Stewart punch.

Te Amo-

Today I have finished this monochromatic (almost!) loving card with this beeeauuutiful Tilda, which has just written a love letter with her pink pencil :)
After I tool the photos, I realised I didn't highlight with the white pen the image, but she's cute all the same; and i LOVE the way this card turned out! :)
Did you see the small butterfly Tilda has printed on her dress? (I added that, it's not part of the original stamp)

I took the idea from Mumur's sketch for this week's Friday Sketchers challenge challenge, and StampARTic; which want to see a monochromatic Valentine card. Lots of embellies and details for your eye candy.. and this gorgeous Tilda which can be used in sooo many ways is available from... yeah.. CCC Challenge meets ROP Challenge

Okay, so today I have quite a long post for you!! :) I have two cards to show you: One for the Cupcake Craft Challenge DT and the other one for Roses on Paper.
This one is for CupcakeCC. This week we have another lovely sketch to follow, made by talented Lauren. It is a simple sketch which can easily be multi embellished as one wishes.

Earlier this week I saw this ribbon blossom tutorial at Splicoast Stampers; and at first I said to myself.. it's huge for a card.. and it seems complicated. And I just read through it and moved on. But when I was deciding what colours would I base my card on, and found the DP I wished to use, my ribbons kept coming to my mind, and that tutorial was tempting me more and more! :) Then to top it all I was blog hopping through the challenge blogs, and Magnolia vs Stampavie's theme this week is.. show us your bows!! And I decided to get out from my comfort zone and try it out! :)

This would be perfect to enter it for that challenge! That was the real excuse behind it all!! :) Sometimes we get stuck and it takes us a while to plunge into something we don't usually do.. but then it gets really fun! To say it all.. then I couldn't find quite a lot of ribbons that had the same width, and was going to let it go .. again.. but then I decided to try it with different ribbon widths (here I used 30) :0) I like the finished result!

If you'd like to give it a go you'll find the tutorial here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/ribbonblossom

I used Tilda with Rose; an image that darling Summer had sent me prior to inviting me to join her Design Team :) Thanks sweetie. I inked it up with Distress Ink, and some water colour as well. White gel pen for accents.
The gem swirl is made by myself and I added Crystal Clear on Tilda's Rose.

A side-view of the card:

Always click on the images for better view.

The second card is for Roses on Paper Challenge Blog.

This week it's Challenge number 4, and we have a sketch designed by lovely Anki. Also Anki wished that we use spring colours in our creations. So I chose the pink, white and green as main colours.

I used this Sarah Kay image this time.. so tender and sweet! I coloured the image with a lot of patience and care, using watercolour, and gel pens for the delicate designs. Here we have a nursery rhyme which speaks of a small girl which sings about her beautiful doll, who has rosy cheeks, blue eyes and she says that her mum used to dress it up for her in the same colours as the girl's.. with the same fabric she used to sew her child's dresses. We all learn it when we are young; and pass it on to our young ones. So I decided to make the doll's clothes similar to the girl's! :)
This card has quite a lot of layers, but I love layers; so again this was fun for me :)

I will be listing the materials for both cards below, highlighting the materials that can be purchased from lovely Summer at Roses on Paper.

Don't forget to check my fellow DT members' blogs from both challenges. They all did stunning cards.. again! :) As for our roses on Paper challenge, don't forget that you have two weeks from today to enter your creation; and that there will be a prize for the winner.. Go and check Anki's lovely sketch and cards here.
Also for ALL of you Magnolia lovers.. Summer has GORGEOUS new pre-order Magnolia stamps.. I'll just say Amore Tilda..Love Cupcake.. Be Mine.. go and check.. there are lots to see!

This is just a taster: :))

check also her selected sale items while you're there.. and lots of fab things she got.. yummy Distress ink colours, and lots and lots more!! My my.. I can never stop going there and checking her lovely products! :)

As for the Cupcake Challenge, you have one week from now, you'll find Lauren's sketch here, and do join us in both blogs ! we LOVE to see all the different interpretations form all of you talented craftes!
Have a lovely week, and do read that poem on top of my Blog. It's an inspiration for all of us! :)
Hugs for now... and do keep well!

Alf's Wish-Full Thinking- ROP DT

Oh boy... I fell in love with this gorgeous boy. His name is Alf!! His droopy eyes, that whimsical one-sided smile, those freckles... and that black wavy hair... he's so darn cute!!!
Don't you just love him?? :)

He just seems to be up to something.. but in this image he's like playing the "innocent- I did nothing- boy"!

As soon as I inked this stamp, I just wanted to see it finished, and mounted.. together with the big Jingle Jangle mushroom, and a couple of smaller mushrooms that a friend of mine had stamped for me some months ago (from the fall collection I think).
I coloured this lovely guy with watercolours, and finished him off with some glittery subtle gel pen colour to deepen the blue in his clothes (to match the DP). I can tell you it won't be last you've seen of my darling Alf... and if you'd like to make some pretty boyish cards.. rush off to purchase these gorgeous stamps.. and also you MUST see Alva.. she's an elf princess herself!! :)You can meet them here :)

I kept the card simple, based on a sketch there is for this week's challenge at Papertake Weekly Challenge Blog. I intend to give it to my brother for his Birthday! (ssshh I hope he's too busy to see this from UK!)
The DP I used is HOTP Earth Palette paper pack, and as you can see I embossed (again!!) the background with Sizix Stylized Flowers embossing folder.I love this folder! Then I chalked it with blue decorating chalks to coordinate it with the rest of the card.

I hope you like it.. and for those who sent me kind messages during this week (as I was sick with flu), I want to thank you so much for your thoughtfulness... especially Summer, and my fellow DT members of Roses on Paper. Don't forget to check Summer's store for lovely Magnolia, Stampavie, Sarah Kay stamps.. and now..
Summer is taking pre orders for the coming gorgeous stamps from The Greeting Farm. For those of you who wanted ant specifis stamp and couldn't purchase because they were all goe!.. keep checking, cause Summer is waiting for another order to arrive this week.

Also for those of you who would like to try colouring with the famous Distress Inks (like most of the colouring you see in those inspirational Blogs)and the re-inkers, you will also find the most yummy colours in Roses on Paper store! Go grab while they last!! :)

I would like also to remind you of Challenge number 3 that is still running on Roses on Paper Challenge blog. Next Monday the wimnner will be announced - receiveing a lovely $12 Gift Certificate to be purchased from Roses on Paper, and another challenge will be announced for the coming two weeks :) What are you waiting for to join the fun??! :)

Take time... Cupcake challenge -22

This week Lauren had prepared for us a simple sketch that can be used in lots of ways. I stretched a bit the image box, but otherwise I kept to the sketch.

I had fun colouring this fantastic House Mouse, using grape and lilac as the main colour in the image; and purple and yellow in the layout. I like the way it turned out to be.

Aren't they adorable??

Don't forget to join us in this week's challenge on Cupcake craft Challenges. You have till next Mondat before another challenge is set. And while you're there check out the wonderful DT blogs.. you'll find lots of eye candy there.

Image: House Mouse; is coloured in pencil colours. (thank you Susan)
Main DP: Robert's crafter's Block (given to me by lovely Sharon)
Sentiment is computer generated on textured cardstock (from DCWV)
I also used white and purple cs to matt
Large dew drops, piece of ribbon and brads from stash.
Prima flower and centre kiss: from Roses on Paper

ROP DT- Tilda at School dreams Friday Sketchers

I really enjoyed myself today..you know what?? I visited Tilda at school! She has a wonderful, cheerful class, and I thought that it was lesson time;and that I would disturb! But what did I find Tilda doing?? Sitting on her desk... face on hands.. day-dreaming about friday sketchers challenge!! :) lol
Actually I was dreaming that challenge... the lovely sketch there is this week, and I wanted to create this lovely scene that you yourself can also create with the Magnolia stamps and accessories. You can find these gorgeous stamps here, at Roses on Paper.

I arranged the DP as if it were wallpaper, creating the "wall and floor". Then I stamped the desk and Tilda seperately, water coloured tham and pop dotted them on top of each other.I raised Tilda from the top half with mini foam pads, to seem more like she's really sitting down. After that, I stamped the ruler on textured cardstock.. and this didn't even need colouring ;)
After I mounted the card, and rubbed-on the sentiment, I added crystal effect on the apple and the tiny heart shapes on Tilda's desk. Isn't she gorgeous?!

I decided to start making some Teacher cards for the kids to give to their teachers at the end of the Scholastic year. I know there is still some months time, but having a bunch like I do, it will take some time to have a handful ready! :)

Sending you hugs and blessings, and I hope you're having a wonderful weekend. Don't forget that Summer is still having her Sale, and my dear ROP DT friend Lim has lovely candy going on!! I'd better not send you there.. for my own good(I want that candy!) ... but I promised myself to be good this year :) lol .. joking!!

List of materials I used for the card: (highlighted stuff can be purchased at Roses on Paper)

Magnolia stamps: Sitting Tilda, Desk, Ruler
DP: Basic Grey: Cupcake Pad
Prima Flowers: embossed flowers, and hydrangeas
Buttons, paper pins, rub on sentiment, from stash
Centre Kisses and Dew drops: from Summer
Crystal Lacquer

This card is my entry for this week's Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge Blog. There is a gorgeous sketch by lovely and talented Nikki, and can be used in soo many ways. I wanted to play with a HAnglar this time, and I chose the papers to go with the beautiful tiny plants this sweet girl is carrying. I am already imagining the beautiful flowers they will become!! :) As you may notice, it has a detachable bookmark, and it can be kept as a keepsake.
