ROP DT meets Just Magnolia *2 at Friday's sketchers

Last Sunday when I went a day at my mum's, I took my Magnolia images, and quite a lot of my Distress ink pads with me :) I wanted to colour some images to find them ready when I'm tight with time. This lovely Tilda and her books were coloured in greens and pinks for the Just Magnolia challenge 2. I just love these two colours together! :) I coloured them seperately, then mounted them after I prepared the layout. I used Mumur's lovely sketch at Friday Sketchers. I love how much you can play with the sketch. In fact I opted to turn the sketch sideways. Thanks Mumur for the lovely challenge!

Detailed picture of the main image.

The sketch had quite a lot of circles as you can see, so I decided to use some flowers, and other hand-made embellishments with nesties and scraps of DPs. I distressed them and they look lovely, don't you think? :) What I left out from the sketch was the sentiment it had on the right hand side, but I used Swak stamp for one of the circles, and left the right hand sentiment out. I haven't yet decided to whom this card will go, so when I'll decide, the sentiment will be added there.

On the inside, I used the labels nesties, what was left of the green DP, and added half pearls and stamped those "heart-pins".
Many of the materials I used for this card, can be found at Roses on Paper store. You wll find the list of materials I used below, with direct links to the store's site. I wish you all a happy week, and that you appreciate your ability to make someone happy with one of your creations. Hugs xx

You're my Hero

For the weekend Club Anya has made a "Case the card" contest. we had to case this gorgeous card by Mercy. She's a very talented lady, and has a lot of beautiful creations. I chose to work my first card with Batter Ian, a digi stamp from TGF. I just love this guy, he seems so smart and determined.. he's my Hero!! :) lol

I had the perfect papers for this card. These are a couple of 8 x 8 papers a friend of mine had sent me in a RAK, she could't see how she can use them... but I did! So I'm just so thank ful she sent them to me instead of binning them. Thanks hun! :)

I added dimension to this guy by popping an extra cap and body. I did this by gluing the top part and used large glue dots in the bottom part of the cap. The number "8" is an element sticker from Basic Grey Urban Prarie 12inch pack. Obviously, I went with lots of dots and faux stitching with black and white pens. Some buttons, square brads and fibres to embellish... and voila!! My Hero is finished!! :)

A detailed view of the work done on Ian :)

The inside is done by the rest of what was left out from the teo papers I had used on the front. I finished with a rub on sentiment on the inside, and a computer generated one for the front. What do you think of thiscard? I'm so thankful for those who follow my Blog, and leave me comments here. You give me a lot of boost to try even more to give you some inspiration through my creativity.

I'm off to spend my day at my family. Tonight I'll be visiting your blogs, and leave some love to those who have been so kind to me leaving encouraging messages here! Hugs and God bless you!

You're Special -Truly Scrumptious card

Can you believe this card took me two days to finish?? :) On and off, some colouring at a time (I always say I'm a nerd in colouring, won't stop putting shades and tones till I am satisfied with the result!) lol

I used one of the darling HAnglar images that Kristin sent me when I won the image candy :) So difficult to part with these! :) But I'm really happy with how it turned out. As you can see I experimented a bit with doodling with the white gel pen :)

I made this card for Truly Scrumptious challenge. I loved the sketch this week, and decided to play along. I coloured this beauty with my usual Distress inks.. Red Mohagony and Peeled Paint are the main colours. I also used Angeldust Stickles on the wings, and punched flowers my friend Lim sent me, and some Prima as well (this one from Jacque). Go and visit their lovely blogs.. you'll find some lovely inspiration.. and wonderful persons behind them there!!
I also embellished with brads, dewdrop and a metal tag for the sentiment.

On the inside I used a card quote from a Papercraft Essentials CD I had purchased some years ago. I hope you like it, and yay.. it's weekend again!! some time to play :) Hugs my blogging friend. It's an honour to have you here, taking some time to read my post. Thank you if you choose to spend some more moments to leave a comment. Know that you spread a big big smile on my face :) Also a special hug to my friends who send me these things. It is thanks to them that I can share with you these creations.

Forget me Not- Sugar Bowl Sketch

This week at the Sugar Bowl it was a fantastic sketch by Tiets. I just love sketches, and before I go to sleep.. I'm so ZZzzz :).. I'd love to share with you what I did with it. It will be my entry for the challenge. I wouldl ove to win a selection of Sugar Nellie stamps, but I never won a challenge; so I would have to be super lucky to win them!! But the most important is that I had fun! Yay!! :)

A close up of the image

Of course, I had to use my Gorjuss girls, and my Distress Inks :)
It was also a fun way to use some coordinating scraps in a creative way. I embossed the plain piece with my Sizzix folder, and made a border of small flowers with a mini punch.

Finally I embellished with some fun details, and decorated the inside :)
I hope you are having a lovely week. I'm off to have a good sleep, I need it!! :)
Hugs to you my sweet friend, it would be amazing if I woke up to find your message left here! :))

Gos bless you!

Colour Challenge- Roses on Paper

Well, here comes our 10th Challenge - already!! Wow how time flies when you're having a good time! :) It's Susan 's turn to set our challenge and she decided on a colour challenge:
Aqua, Peach and Butter Yellow.

I admit it was a bit of a challenge for me; I don't use these colours together usually.. but then it seemed to have turned cute. Like I had hinted yesterday, I used another Greeting Farm stamp for this card: my Nurse Anya.

She seems always so calm and serene, so I gave her the title "Love is the best Medicine"! :) Isn't that true??

I always feel so much better after a good hug..or a good deed inspired by love; don't you? :)

I left the inside plain, but using the same set of nesties, to keep the same design.

I hope you join us in this challenge. You have two weeks starting from today. Summer, as always, has thought of a lovely prize for a random winnwer, will it be you? Go for the details on Roses on Paper challenge Blog, check the details and get colouring!!

Have a lovely week my friend. Thank you for supporting me and my creativity. God bless you.

A Whale of a Great Catch!

Hello friend! Right for a Sunday Special.. here comes my dear Fisherman Ian.. just back from a whale of a catch! lol I'm using the "whale" because of the charm I used on the card :) I made this card for The Greeting Farm CCC3 Contest. We had to case Jessica's card, which you can see here. I decided to use this darling Ian, he was filing to get inky, and I thought that today was the right time for him :)

I first stamped Ian twice: one on watercolour paper (which I have thanks to my lovely friend Susan! Thanks hun xx),and another on another type of cardstock, which is not that good for water-based colouring. On this latter image, I sponged the background and left to dry. I coloured the other Ian, and also the stairs (a Magnolia image). Then I cut around him, and cut off the fish; seperating them in the process. One of them, as you can see, I pop-dotted it to add dimension.

Finally I mounted everything, making a cute mini-scene for my cutie fisherman. He seems so pleased with his catch! :) Jessica herself will decide the winning card, on Friday 24th.. if you want to join in the fun. In the link I gave you in the beginning of this post you can find all the details. You can use any GF stamp. By the way... if you would like to purchase these stamps, Summer has them in her store. She is always adding the new ones that are released each month.

The bottom sentiment, is one that came with this Rock the Farm set, and the round upper sentiment is Stampin 'Up. I added brown embroidery thread, and that whale charm, which I found at a pound shop. I can tell you I was over the moon finding some charms there, as they are not commonly found here :)

The papers are Papermania, and a piece of Basic Grey as well. On the inside I printed a sentiment from my computer on a piece of cardstock, and stamped that flourish to finish. I also added some dewdrops for a "manly" touch, hehe. No flowers.. aggghr! Colouring meduim: Distress inks and reinkers.

Have a lovely and peaceful day my blogging friend. This will be an important key to having a calm and serene week, whatever life may present you with! Thanks for any comment you may wish to leave. I really appreciate your time to do so. x

By the way: Tomorrow it will be time for another Roses on Paper challenge. You can come back to see my DT entry for this week's challenge. Ssssh.. just a hint.. I used another Greeting Farm charmer.. who may it be you ask?? MMmm you'll see! Tomorrow!!
I need to practise with these babes as I'll be Guest Designing for them in a few months' time!!

Delight in little things - Easter Happiness

Yes I am very happy today... We're Celebrating the most important Truth and lovely Feast in the Church today.. Jesus rose again from death to show us that we'll rise in Him too if we only believe. I am also very happy to have finished this card.. lack of mojo AND lots of work didn't let me finish it for a week and a half. ALSO I am Extremely happy as in two hours time, my oldest nephew is coming back home from Australia.. after eight years! :) We're having a lovely reunion later today.. very much looking forward.

I made this card for one of my kids, who will be 10 later this year, and have made it on the present Sukkersott sketch. I kept checking if there might have started a new challenge (as I couldn't make myself to finish it!) But luckily for me, I think they stopped for Easter, so it is still valid :)

I have used Papermania Simply elegant left off pieces, and Exquisite pack as well. A lovely Gorjuss image, and some embellishments for a splash of fun and colour.

May God bless you friend, and I REALLY wish you a wonderful Easter, filled with Spiritual Blessings and lots of Happiness in Beleiving in Him, who died and Rose again to free you and me (whoever.. he said.. that's ALSO us!) from our sin.
