ROP/BnW Challenge- Male Card

Good morning everyone!

I hope you are feeling well, and that you have a good start of the week :) I am glad that I have the opportunity to share another card today :)

This week we have another RoP/BnW challenge, and this time super sweet and talented Anki wants to see male cards! Agggr... not my favourite type.. but then I always have fun and am glad how they turn out in the end! :))

What hindered me this time was that I couldn't decide what image to use. I wished to make a Magnolia card, but couldn't find an Edwin stamp that I could use. I had Edwin celebrating, but I didn't wish to use that. Fortunately for me, I found this image in my images folder, someone had sent it to me, and I liked it.

I based my card on Lilacs, warm greys and soft blues, and used again some of the Magnolia papers. Aggh these are always hard to tear.. but then they look lovely on cards, don't they?

I coloured Edwin with Copics, cut around the image, and put him aside with Stickles on his wings.. to dry. Then cut a piece of cardstock and Distressed with Weathered Wood Distress ink. I left it to dry for some minutes and then used again the same ink pad , and stamped some Grunge shapes around the long sides of the frame. Needless to say, these are Stempelglede stamps.

I matted on lilac Core'dination cardstock and light blue cardstock after that. Then I mounted the main DP, sewed around it with my machine, and continued adding the layers.
Finally I distressed the edges for a masculine, rough feel, and biting my lip I tore the DP in some places to make it more rough looking (I bit my lip because I couldn't stand to tear it!!!)

In the bottom corner I added a Greeting Farm sentiment, stamping again with Weathered Wood directly on the paper, and the other sentiment was computer generated, distressed and matted like the image.

Finally I added square brads, with I accented with some roughly done (on purpose) Copic colour, Mini square Basic Grey Rhinestones , and a couple of buttons.

This is how I decorated the inside. I love this card, maybe it's one of the few that will not get out from my room in the near future :))

I hope you let me know what you think of it, and that you join us on our fun challenge. For the details, on which stamps you can use, please visit our Challenge blog here.

I will enter this card for a coupe of challenges myself:

Just Magnolia: I used Jay Jay's lovely sketch
Crafty Creations: Stitchng
Simon Says Challenge: I have 1 image, 2 DPs and 3 embellies (brads, buttons and rhinestones)
Saturday Spotlight: I have tearing and distressing.

Have a lovely week my friend, and thank you once again for choosing to honour me with your visit. Know that your comments make me smile :)

Thanks for looking

Such a beautiful card. I love the blues and lilacs together. You've laid it out perfectly and the square brads just added that little touch of boyhood. Great inspiration!

Beautiful coloring on this adorable Edwin and the distressing the is the perfect accent -- it reminds me of how little boys' clothing usually ends up after a few wearings! Thanks for playing in this week's Spotlight challenge!!
