Easter blessings

Hello my friend, I hope that you are felling well... and "Springy"!! :) Today I want to share with you another card I did yesterday, a bit different , not my usual style; but I love this style as well. It is elegant, and perfect for this Special time of the year. I cased Becca's card ,which you find here. Becca is very talented, and her work is always so perfect and beautiful. I am doing another card like this, and I used a 12 x 12 paper for both of them together.

I printed the sentiment from my computer, and then mounted the frame with some foam pads. I tried to find a more olive green coloured cs for the frame, but I didn't have at home, so I used this one. I highlighted with a gold pen, and used the same style for the inside.

To embellish I used this wide satin ribbon, a vintage button, and a hat pin with some beads and pearls. I hope you like it, and I hope that this Easter Season will be a lovely time for all of us.. in all aspects of our life! :)

Inside view, both sides.

This one is a close up of one of the sides, where I used my Martha Stewart punch, and nesties. Again the sentiment is computer generated.

A Gorjuss Basic Grey Creation

Yay!! I got to play with my Gorjuss babes again.. these are really addictive, and for those who like them, they can be purchased from Funkykits. I had such a time colouring her, and I'm really looking forward to ink them all up.. one by one! :) I liked Basic Grey's sketch, and I decided to play. I coloured the image yesterday, and I played a bit with the colouring. These distress inks are a wonder to work with I can tell you! I coloured Miss Gorjuss, and played a bit with strong shadow. I liked the effect. It seems a miniature painting.

I used Two Scoops Paper pad, and embossed a piece of coordinating textured cardsock. To distress it, and get out the white core, I used a nail file; working slowly till I was happy with the effect created. I also distressed the paper edges with Peeled Paint Tim Holtz ink, and embellished with flowers, gems and some clear stamps.

Inside view. I'm still not 100 percent happy with the inside. It lacks something, maybe an image? Or a design arorund the circle? Dunno!! Any ideas welcome! :))

Blessings to you, and thanks Martine for the lovely sketch!!

HAnglar goes to Mojo Monday

I am hosting this week's Challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges, and I decided that this time I choose a theme. We're in March, and what theme is better than Spring? So I chose to base my card on these lively colours.. with lots of flowers in the background! That's what I mostly love in Spring.. flowers.. of all kinds and colours! As DT work I can't take part in the actual challenge, so I based my card on Mojo Monday's sketch! Read about it here:

This week it is Contest week over at Mojo Monday, and I couldn't resist to use this sketch.. it is lovely; and offers a lot of possibilities. I have used anotherHAnglar image for this card, and although I kept it quite simple and clean, it really stood out.

I coloured with the usual Distress Inks, and have worked a bit with the ribbons I used. First I positioned the pink satin ribbon with double-sided tape, and then I chose the green polka dotted one to place on top. I threaded some green thread through the length, and put it on top of the pink.

I didn't glue it in place, but positioned the image ready with the matt to see where I want to create the design (Don't know what to call it! sorry!!) I cut the thread, leaving some extra length on either side; and then pulled gently until I got the effect I wanted. I left underneath the image straight, so that it will stay flat. I also opted to created a different, stapled bow for a more funky look.

To finish off the dainty look, I embellished with a crotcheted flower and pearl brad.
The white background is embossed with Stylised Flowers Sizzix folder.
Swirl stamps and sentiments are Studio G.

As you see I stuck to the idea of decorating the inside, I like it and get to use some of the scraps from what is left. Have a lovely Blessed Sunday.

Yippee!! I made it!! :).. almost!

Yes I'm actualy part of the team.. not a Full DT member, but I was chosen... among lots of talented people I know.. to be Guest Designer for two months with Team Anya :)) I just couldn't open the e mail with excitement. I know that I am blessed to be part of this team as well as Roses on Paper. My term with Cupcake Craft Challenges is soon coming to an end, and I know that for the coming months we'll be promoting the new Elisabeth Bell exclusive lines for ROP. To top it all, I will be promoting Club Anya's stamps for August and September.. stamps which I can remind you can aLSO be found at Roses on Paper. I hope they'll be happy with my work!! Oh I'm soo excited! :)

Go here to see the new team for the coming months and the other two Guest Designers who will be designing in the coming months :))
CONGRATS TO ALL!!

Speaking of Cupcake CC Blog, yesterday a new Challenge started, and the challenge chosen was an inspitational picture. We had to make a card following the inspiration we get from the picture provided. This is my entry for this week:

Obviously, as you see, I used a Hanglar image, which was kindly sent to me.. oh how I hate using them! lol
I chose yellow and the soft red colours both in paper (Provocraft DP) and in the embellishments.

This is a sideview of the card. Hopefully if you click on the picture you'll see that I made the heart pop out by adding Crysytal Lacquer for dimension.

The ticket is computer-generated by me, and distressed with Antique Linen, after wrinkling the paper :)
Added some pearls, and hearts on the inside. I'm off to celebrate!! Thank you Greeting Farm!! :)

3 Challenge combo for Sunday Special

Managing to finish a card with lots of work is already a task, and something to be happy about at the end of the day.. if my card satisfies 3 challenges.. that is something to celebrate with chocolate!! :)) lol

I was blog hopping when I found a new (or new to me) challenge Blog - Colour Create.. and these want a Blue and Brown colour combo challenge.. yes I like! Then I went to visit the Sugar Bowl.. and they want Christmas!! Nooo.. not yet.. let's see.. Okay my friend and fellow ROP DT member Susan is a guest Designer at Sketch Saturday for these two weeks, and I love their sketch. It is a small way of encouraging Susan.. by participating as well! When I was looking for DPs having blue and brown.. you know what came into my hands? Dovecraft's Winter wonderland Papers!! I love those papers! Christmas?! Yes..okay; I give up!! :)) so I can make 1 card for three challenges :)

I coloured with my Distress inks, and added crystal Stickles for snow underneath this Maggie with Dotty Scarf image from sugar Nellie. After settling all the layers, I embellished with Papermania and Prima flowers, Basic Grey Brad, Basic Grey buttons and a Christmas charm (which I think was part of a blog candy I had won). Last, but not least I made a freehand swirl out of self-adhesive gems.

By the way, lovely and talented Kristin was kind enough to give me this award. Thanks Kristin... you're adorable! :) I will also pass it on to Jules, keep it up my dear friend! Thumbs up, and always look on.. never back!

Another thing Summer is celebrating 2nd Birthday of ROP and some other sweet things with a YUMMY candy! Check it out here.. you have to be in to win it!! I'll be with you in some hours' time for a new Roses on Paper challenge.. and this time it will be ME challenging you. Will you be prepared?! Hmmm we'll see!! ;)

Have a lovely night! See you tomorrow morning ;)
