ROP Challenge- Altered Christmas Gift

Hiya there! Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you're not sad being a Monday - we used to call it Monday blues- havin to get back to school or work after a realxing weekend. At least see the positive side,, another ROP challenge for you, and you can use your Magnolia, Bildmalarnas, TGF, BnW and Alota stamps!! This week we have a fun challenge for you, set by our lovely and talented Peta - Altering a Gift you wish to give this Christmas. How fun is that? And the best part is: that to whom it will be given, you will make him /her soo happy with a handcrafted thing made with Love!

At first it was hard for me to pick an object. I was going to alter first a container to be filled with something dainty. then a box of Magnolia soap (not magnolia stamp.. these are soap from M&S.. they are called Magnolia:)

Finally I decided that i want to use Just Magnolia sketch for my project, so I altered an Address book box(with the address book in it.. as a gift). It is a lovely book.. oriental style.. I liked it as from the first time I saw it. This is how the box looked at first.

And this I the address book in it :)What I decided to do is make the decorated top a card in itself, so first I folded in half an A4 whire cardsock and cut to size.

First thing I did was to make lace trim around all the sides. Lace always give that elegant touch to all projects.
Now as the box is in rectangular form, and is size A5, I had to use A4 paper make the base and to cover all the area first. So I used Papermania Regency pack. I distressed the edges with the scissors and then with Peeled Paint. Then for the scalloped middle, I used a paper from Wassail Basic Grey, and scalloped it with my MS doily lace punch.

Next came the middle panel, another from the Wassail pack (I love this pad, one of the most beautiful from Basic Grey I think). Again I distressed all the edges with scissors, then with Peeled Paint Ink.

After that I preferred to make the inside at this point. Again I used Regency paper for the base, then Wassail for te middle. Left sentiment is computer generated, the other is stamped (sorry I don't know the name of the brand as this was given to me and has no name). I like it .. simple and effective.

Inside view.

Then I coloured Tilda with Copics and cut around. But before I mounted it I glued the ribbon from underneath the left base panels, and put the top ribbon part in its place with wide double-sided tape.Tilda is mounted with glue (bottom part) and 3d mini foam pads(from her dress upwards).

Last but no least, I added my embellishments.. my favourite part:) I added almost everything in red: ribbon, flowers (except one which is white to make some contrast),red dewdrops, red heart brad to keep the stamped tag in place, red star brads on the inside.. and Basic Grey Rhinestones.. again red :)

Finally I added the alphabet stickes, but before I did, I coloured them with Copics, as they were pink :) Talking of seeing red!!!! I feel like a bull now!! LOL

I hope you enjoyed looking at this project just as much as I did creating it. Most of all I hope that if you like what you saw on it, you go and get it from Roses on Paper- summer just bought some more goodies in!! And you can also get the latest So Jolly Magnolias for your Christmas creations. I'm still waiting for mine as our post is soooo slow! But Summer ships out quick as a flash!! I also hope you get to join us on ROP/BNW challenge blog, and let us see what you alter this time!!

Before I leave you to go and see my other fellow DT projects, which are gorgeous, I want to let you know that as from tomorrow, on our BnW DT blog Summer will open our official advent Calendar, with everyday goodies and surprises,, which are not to miss!! Let me remind you that also for this challenge, as ALWAYS, summer is offering a lovely gift for a random winner! That is sooo Christmassy!! :)

Happy and peaceful Week to you my friend. God bless you and your loved ones.

Thanks for looking
