ROP Challenge- Altered Christmas Gift

Hiya there! Happy Monday everyone!

I hope you're not sad being a Monday - we used to call it Monday blues- havin to get back to school or work after a realxing weekend. At least see the positive side,, another ROP challenge for you, and you can use your Magnolia, Bildmalarnas, TGF, BnW and Alota stamps!! This week we have a fun challenge for you, set by our lovely and talented Peta - Altering a Gift you wish to give this Christmas. How fun is that? And the best part is: that to whom it will be given, you will make him /her soo happy with a handcrafted thing made with Love!

At first it was hard for me to pick an object. I was going to alter first a container to be filled with something dainty. then a box of Magnolia soap (not magnolia stamp.. these are soap from M&S.. they are called Magnolia:)

Finally I decided that i want to use Just Magnolia sketch for my project, so I altered an Address book box(with the address book in it.. as a gift). It is a lovely book.. oriental style.. I liked it as from the first time I saw it. This is how the box looked at first.

And this I the address book in it :)What I decided to do is make the decorated top a card in itself, so first I folded in half an A4 whire cardsock and cut to size.

First thing I did was to make lace trim around all the sides. Lace always give that elegant touch to all projects.
Now as the box is in rectangular form, and is size A5, I had to use A4 paper make the base and to cover all the area first. So I used Papermania Regency pack. I distressed the edges with the scissors and then with Peeled Paint. Then for the scalloped middle, I used a paper from Wassail Basic Grey, and scalloped it with my MS doily lace punch.

Next came the middle panel, another from the Wassail pack (I love this pad, one of the most beautiful from Basic Grey I think). Again I distressed all the edges with scissors, then with Peeled Paint Ink.

After that I preferred to make the inside at this point. Again I used Regency paper for the base, then Wassail for te middle. Left sentiment is computer generated, the other is stamped (sorry I don't know the name of the brand as this was given to me and has no name). I like it .. simple and effective.

Inside view.

Then I coloured Tilda with Copics and cut around. But before I mounted it I glued the ribbon from underneath the left base panels, and put the top ribbon part in its place with wide double-sided tape.Tilda is mounted with glue (bottom part) and 3d mini foam pads(from her dress upwards).

Last but no least, I added my embellishments.. my favourite part:) I added almost everything in red: ribbon, flowers (except one which is white to make some contrast),red dewdrops, red heart brad to keep the stamped tag in place, red star brads on the inside.. and Basic Grey Rhinestones.. again red :)

Finally I added the alphabet stickes, but before I did, I coloured them with Copics, as they were pink :) Talking of seeing red!!!! I feel like a bull now!! LOL

I hope you enjoyed looking at this project just as much as I did creating it. Most of all I hope that if you like what you saw on it, you go and get it from Roses on Paper- summer just bought some more goodies in!! And you can also get the latest So Jolly Magnolias for your Christmas creations. I'm still waiting for mine as our post is soooo slow! But Summer ships out quick as a flash!! I also hope you get to join us on ROP/BNW challenge blog, and let us see what you alter this time!!

Before I leave you to go and see my other fellow DT projects, which are gorgeous, I want to let you know that as from tomorrow, on our BnW DT blog Summer will open our official advent Calendar, with everyday goodies and surprises,, which are not to miss!! Let me remind you that also for this challenge, as ALWAYS, summer is offering a lovely gift for a random winner! That is sooo Christmassy!! :)

Happy and peaceful Week to you my friend. God bless you and your loved ones.

Tania Baking at Friday Sketchers

Happy Saturday everyone!

I hope you are in good health, and that you have some crafty time to relax this weekend as well. I am trying to make as much Christmas cards as possible, but am not really doing as much as I'd like to! :) And the few that I make, they want them all!! So.. maybe I'll have to send shop bought ones myself this year! *sigh!* :))

Anyway, this week there are some lovely sketches I'd love to do. One of them is Friday's sketchers, and I used this lovely Belles 'nd Whistles Tania Baking; as I had a commision to do, requesting this lovely image. So this lovely Tania will be travelling overseas to Germany in a couple of days, with some more creations :)

I used Basic Grey Wisteria papers this time. I coloured her in Copics, but paper pieced the apron. But I did shade on the paper piecing as well. I find that it gives dimension. For a final sparkling touch I used some Euchalyptus Stickles on her apron, and on the flowers; and the gorgeous raffia ribbon behind Tania. I also machine stitched the panels.

For the sentiment I used some Stampin up stamps, and stamped the sentiment on a piece of Wisteria DP, the same paper from which I paper pieced the apron. Then I cut around it free hand, and cut a purple circle with the nesties. I distressed it with my nails and cut a scalloped circle with the same apron's DP to coordinate.

On Tania's bowl I used Crystal Lacquer to give her dimension. Prima flowers, Paper, Stickles and Crystal Lacquer from Roses on Paper. Ribbon and apple charm from Quixotic Paperie.

A better view of the image, and how I used the Stickles.

This is the inside view. I stamped the sentiment with Versa Colour Atlantic Ink, and the corner stamp is Studio G.
I hope you like it, and that you love these gorgeous stamps as much as I do. Summer is lovely to work with, and she'll be glad to help you if you need these stamps.

Copics I used:

Skin: Eooo, Eoo, E11, E21
Hair: YR23, YR24, E47, E57
Top: V000, V04, V06, V12
Pants: V000,V09, V15, V17, V19
Shading on paper piecing: G0000, G82, G85

Have a lovely afternoon/ evening.

Finding Joy in the Star- BnW DT

Happy Thursday everyone!

I hope everyone is okay, peaceful and healthy.. those are two of the most important things in life :) I have some sore throat, but am taking care of it ;) No big deal.
Today I have another card for you, one that I admit, I fell in love with: the image and how it turned out.

This is one of the new 2nd BnW Christmas Release, and it is called Star of Betlehem. It's adorable; look at those faces, and the smaller's sister sheeply look. Those long eyelashes are the cutest thing. And that long dress? Lovely to colour and shade. I really had fun! I coloured her in Copics, and below you will see a picture of the ones I used for this cutie pie.

The Sketch I used was one from Sketch Saturday, it's lovely to do. Sorry girls, I had to alter the sentiment's position though. It will do also for Everybody Art Challenge and Charisma Cardz, as the theme this week is Christmas. The papers I used .. again.. so preictable I know.. *sigh*; but I love these; are Eskimo Kisses, from Basic Grey. I used Seafoam blue green colour again.. yes it's in my calm mood right now! hehe

What I did for this one is that I coloured the image, and cut around it.Then I stamped another image on a white piece of cardstock, and using my Copic I did the background, before mounting my coloured image. The ground is done with Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. The edges are done in copic as well, but I helped it by sponging Versamark Seafoam colour.

The fabric flowers I used.

When I came to stick my coloured image, I glued all of it, but underneath her furthest hand and the star I used pop dots and mini foam pads to raise it for dimension. It's so cute! The star is colourd with a gold glitter pen. Even in the shading on Belle's face and dress, I tried to capture the direction of the light coming from the star of Betlehem. I also used Crystal Stickles on her waist tinsel (at least that's what it looks like to me!! :) and some green glitter pen on Belle's hair bow. I also touched a bit on the younger sister's hair decoration.

What I also adore in this particular image is that the focus is on the star, which points, at least in my opinion, to the real Star of Betlehem: Baby Jesus; because of whom we're supposed to celebrate this wonderful Season.

I used my new edge punches in this card, I'm so happy with them!! (Thank you sweetie ;).. I HAD to play! :))On the inside I used this adorable hand-stitched embellishment. If you have a moment to listen I would like to share with you something about it. You will see some of these Wonderful embellies on my cards n the near future. As I said, they are done handstitched, and who made them was a Maltese wonderful 26 year old lady, Nadine.

Nadine is a wonferul talent when it comes to hand crafts. I never met her, but I have some of her lovely makes, which I'll show you one of these days. Unfortunately Nadine, three weeks ago passed away. Four months ago, she came to know she had leukemia, and knew she had only a few months to live. What she did was she told her friend that she wanted her handcrafted souvenirs to be given to Children's Homes, so that we could make good use of them. I was given these precious treasures to use, and I know I'll have Nadine's lovely decorations on our Christmas Tree this year, in her honour. May she rest in peace, and may God give courage to her broken hearted family. I ask you humbly to keep them in your prayes. Thank you Nadine for your noble heart.

On this side I used one of my computer generated sentiments, and added a small jotting piece, wich I decorated with a clear sticker and a glittered snowflake; which is also a Papermania Sticker. I hope you like it, and if you read so far, I thank you from my heart. I'll be so happy if you let me know you were here by leaving a comment. I also hope that you too find Joy in the real Star of Betlehem. I'm sure Nadine did. God bless you my friend.

I hope you had a lovely, peaceful and productive weekend, and that you remembered that today it is a Special day for you Bells 'nd Whistles fans. Elisabeth has done it again. She gave us some more lovely designs to choose from, and Summer is giving you these lovely new babes in rubber :) Yippee!!

Yes, here comes the SECOND Christmas release with six new designs to choose from. These stamps are on pre-order as from later today, and will be shipping as from 1st December. Hurry to pre order though, they will be available only for a short time, as Christmas is very near now. But I promise you that you will be in love with them!

If you just happened to come here, and you wish to participate in our Blog Hop, and obviously be eligible to win a free set of these stamps, start the Hop from the

Belles 'nd Whistles Blog.

There you can read the details, and you will be directed through each DT member's blog till you reach the end.

If you came here from Nikki's blog, then you are right on track..keep reading :)

What do I have for you today?

It is the gorgeous

Two Turtle Doves

Isn't it cute and lovely? I fell in love immediately, from the first day I saw this design. You remember the Classic song "On the First Day of Christmas?" Yes it brings me so many lovely memories.

I decided to go for a classy and elegant look this time, and with this stamp I created an easel card, and a paper gift bag. It will hold some perfume and other things like that, a gift for a lovely lady. Yes I found a perfume that matches the seafoam clour, so that it will be part of the gift :)

The sketch is from last week's Friday Sketchers. It was one of my talented friend's: Jacque. I liked it, but didn't have time to try it last week. So I decided to use it today :)This is my first easel card, and I really had fun making it. I used Papermania Joyeux Noel Paper, I'm loving these as well. They have fun designs, and classy ones.. all in the same pack. Thank you Anna, if you read this, for these lovely papers.

The open view of the card.

I coloured my Belles with Copics, and tried to keep to the style as possible. I added Stickles for some sparkle (who does not love that extra sparkle on Christmas cards? :) and some shine with a gold glitter pen. I don't know if this is visible in the photos. If not try to click on each photo for a better view.I also added half pearls and gold embellies to co ordinate. Then I added touch of Seafoam colour (greenish blue). I think it made a lovely effect, do you?

A sidevew of the card.

Laced ribbon is from stash, as also the bow, embellishments and gold corners on bag. Sentiments: round is Stampin Up, the others are computer generated and a Studio G.
It wasn't easy finding things that matched these particular colours, but thank God I succeeded :) I hope you liked what you see, and that it inspires you to create your own gift bags this Christmas. At least, to those closest to you (as these take quite some time to finsh as a set).

Now off you hop to Erin, but before you do, please leave me a comment here, let me know what you think of this set, and leave also some love at my other fellow DT friends. I'm sure you like what you see.

Have a lovely week, and remember to make someone smile with a handcrafted creation :)

ROP/BnW Challenge- Sweet November

Hello all!!

How is everyone?? I'm sorry I've been away all week. I've missed blogging here, and the smiles I get everytime I see your comments. Last Monday we had to start a fresh challenge at ROP/ BnW challenge blog, but some of the DT members and their families were sick, so we postponed till today.

This time it's talented Anki's tun to set the challenge, and she chose the movie "Sweet November" as the theme. She challenged us to a romantic card;obviously because she chose a romantic film as the theme. I went for a Christmas card with a romantic/ love sending theme. Reds and golds are romantic, no? So hopefully I hit the right button :) I used this week's lovely Just Magnolia sketch.. I missed taking part in this challenge :)

I used Tilda with that darling look and those cute hearts in her lap for my card, and stamped the Silent Night music behind her. Should I remind you that both of them are Magnolia stamps, and you can get these quick from Summer's Store. You can also get these lovely Basic Grey papers from there as well: Eskimo Kisses. Her service is impeccable and she's always getting more lovely goodies for you to choose from!!!

I also gave the card a vintage feel, and distressed the music panel with aged Mahogany Distress ink, and later added some gold stickes as well. I also added some to the tips of the roses. A gold butterfly, gold square brads and gold corners were chosen to coordinate, and Basic Grey rhinestones in the right hand side of the card. The sentiment is clear Studio G stamp. I stamped it with Walnut Stain on white cardstock, crumbled the paper and then I flattened it again. With the help of some foam, I went around the panel with Antique Linen Distress ink, and also made it look "oldish" :)

Gold stickles were added aroound its edges as well. Tilda is also coloured in reds Distress inks, basically Aged Mahogany and some Tattered Rose is all I used. Her hair is done with Frayed Burlap and Brushed Courduroy.

You have two weeks to join us in this challenge, and let me remind you that Summer is always generous in her prizes for each challenge!

I hope you like it, and that you tell me what you think of this card. I am very honoured to have you here, and I hope you keep coming to visit me and my creations Blessings to you and to your loved ones, and as always.. Smile!

Fa la la la la... BnW DT

How are you doing friend? Is t cold and rain there? Here in Malta the air is getting cooler and cooler, and both yesterday and today we had thuderstorms and rain.. Yay! I love it :)

Well I have a card for you today, another Christmas card, this time with a BnW image: Belle's Carols. Isn't she cute, singing to her teddies? I followed Sketch Saturday's sketch, but I twisted it a bit. I turned the sketch sideways, and I used a rectangular image instead of an oval, but I rounded the corners instead! lol

As for papers I used Papermania's Joyeux Noel, they are beautiful :) Gold festive ribbon and some flowers created the perfect touch for Belle, and I used a clear stamp for the "Fa la la la la" sentment. I'm getting Christmassy in my mood already... are you?

Have a happy Tuesday, and don't forget to join us in the ROP challenge. You have till Sunday to win a lovely BnW stamp.

Mojo Monday couples with Stamp something

How are you all, my friends?

I hope that you are in good health, and having a wonderful weekend. I have had a very busy week, and I was not the usual night owl, becase I was getting very tired. Obviously I didn't craft a lot. But I stalked some blogs, and somewhere I saw a Hanglar card. This was enough to reach for my treasure.. the Hanglar images that some friends had sent me.. which I prefer not to use! lol

I wanted to make a Christmas card using one of them, and my eyes caught this gorgeous image. I coloured it in Copics, and as for papers, I used the lovely Wassail paper from Basic Grey. I used Mojo Monday's sketch, and added lace, and a Christmas ponsietta embellished with the woderful Basic Grey's stitched brads. I used Crystal Stickles to add some bling, and also some glittered stars. Finally I added lace, dewdrops and a Studio G clear sentiment. As you can see, I also used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to distress around my image. They create such a lovely effect! (highlighted material is from Roses on Paper)

This makes it also good for Stamp Something challenge. This week they have a recipe: 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 embellishments (this can be a total of 3 or 3 different kinds). They have also a noble cause: sending love to a small girl.. check out this blog for more info: Stamp Something...for Jaimie

Thank you for visiting me, and for any comments you decide to leave me. Know that they are truly appreciated, and that you make me smile with each one of them.

Smiles!!

Copics used.
