Okay, so Monday is here, and besides all of us having to start another busy week... it also means another Cupcake Craft Challenge. Yay!! This week, as I already told you, it's my turn to set the Challenge. I chose to combine a sketch, and some requirements to go with it. I designed the following sketch for us to follow :
The sketch can be turned sideways or at any angle you choose, added with any embellishments, and the sentiment is up to you, where and if you make one! BUT I would like you to include at least one scalloped edge in the card, and the card must include the colour BROWN somewhere (light brown, dark brown.. whatever).. it can be in the image, in the paper, embellishments, or all of them.
This is the card I made for this challenge.
It is a large card, an A4 scored in half, but very much detailed. I used white cardstock, and layered the DP on blue card. I handstitched the two panels behind the image, and added two corners in the negative design.
When that was set, I coloured in this lovely Magnolia image, sent to me by lovely Summer in pencil colours, and added depth and shade on the rose with glitter pen colour picked with a damp brush. It is very glittery in real life, but the photo didn't get that well.
Then I chalked the edges of the image, and stamped some swirls and doodles in blue. After that, I distressed with Antique Linen Ranger ink. When that was done with, I matted on brown cardstock, then dotted light brown paper, and then blue. On the last layer I included the scalloped edge with the Martha Stewart doily lace punch.
I mounted the main image on 3D foam tape, but before sticking I added a piece of brown satin ribbon and a two hearts charm, which was included in Bev's blog candy.
Being very fascinated by Rhinestone swirls seen on other bloggers' creations, I always wished they would be available here... but nothing to do! So I designed a swirl with a light pencil line, and made one myself!! :) I confess that I love it!! It consists of 36 rhinestones, and it stood out beautifully ;) lol
On the other side I embellished with flowers.
Two sizes of Papermania fabric flowers, and a couple of spacers that were also in the blog candy. Now I have only 1 left!!! :)lol Behind the flowers I added a cardstock swirl and a computer generated ticket with the sentiment that says : "Lovely Birthday Wishes".
When all was mounted and ready, I added silver glitter glue to the image's and the card's edges for some shine, and glittered also Tilda's wings..
I hope you like this card, and that it inspires you to join us in this week's challenge as well.Go th the challenge blog, and while you're there check what the other DT members have created. Check out also their blogs for more ispiration. I am very looking forward, as this is my first ever sketch, to see your interpretation of my challenge. Good luck, and thanks for finding the time to visit, and for the wonderful comments you leave. I really appreciate them!
As always, I wish you all a lovely week, full of health, peace, joy and love. The Blessings of the Lord be with you and your loved ones always.xxx
