Quixotic Paperie's First Birthday Blog Hop!!!

Hello, I'm back again!!

Today is the 1st Anniversary of the Quixotic Paperie online store, and we're having a celebratory blog hop! I was cordially invited to the Blog Hop as a Friend of Quixotic Paperie, having been a past guest designer. Thank you Elaine for inviting me, I am very honoured to be considered a friend of your lovely Store.

If you're already following the hop, you should have hopped over here from the super talented Kim Piggott's Blog If not, then hop back to the beginning at the Quixotic Paperie Store Blog. You won't want to miss a stop, as in addition to lots of fantastic inspiration, there are some prizes on offer (full details on the Quixotic Paperie Blog).

Quixotic Paperie was started on June 1st 2009 by Elaine Hughes. Having been an avid crafter (and craft shopper!) for a number of years, Elaine wanted to share her passion and see where it might take her - so, Quixotic Paperie was born! Since then, the store has grown, and now stocks a fabulous range of rubber stamps from around the world: The Greeting Farm, Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, SCACD Stamps, Paper Makeup Stamps, Belles 'n Whistles, the Mo Manning for Stamping Bella range, Stempelglede and more! In addition, the store carries a large range of charms and embellishments, and a host of gorgeous papers for all your crafty projects! If Elaine loves it, you will probably find it at Quixotic Paperie!

In November 2009 the Quixotic Challenges blog was started, where you can find weekly inspiration from the wonderful Quixotic Paperie Design Team, and join in for the chance to win a monthly prize.

It has been a fabulous and wonderfully crafty year and here's to another one and hopefully many more to follow!

For today's occasion, I decided to use this digi stamp from Mo Manning's lovely Store. Both me and Elaine are DT members in Mo's Dream Team, and Elaine is one of the lucky girls that has Mo Manning's gorgeous and whimsical images in her Store as stamps. You can purchase this cute stamp in Quixotic Paperie HERE

It is quite a wanted image. In fact I am noticing that it is already Sold out!!! But if you drop a line to Elaine, she will let you know when this stamp will be available again at her Store.

I coloured my image with Copics, and added a gorgeous sentiment, that came with its frame. I added some brads, flowers and tha raffia lace ribbon that can be found also in Quixotic Paperie, here. I based my card on the sketch found at Fab 'n Funky Challenge blog.

I finally added a couple of self adhesive pearls, and finished by decorating the inside. I hope you like it, and let me know what you think of this cutie-pie :)

Thank you for joining us on the hop! Your next stop is at the fantastic Emma Lockley's blog. I'm sure you will find something fantastic there waiting for you, as you have found, and will be finding at all the Quixotic DT and friends blgs today. Have fun, and smile!!

Copics used.

Stampavie Christmas

As I told you some hours ago, I am back with a card this time. I finished this card wit the lovely Nativity image by Stampavie. Aren't they gorgeous? They are lovely to colour, and I love the traditional feel of these cards, which remind us exactly what Christ-mas is all about. Elaine has these gorgeous stamps at her store- Quixotic Paperie.

For this card I used Sketch Saturday's fab sketch, and the image is coloured with Copics. As for paper I used MME Wonderful paper.. you have to see these.. they are just so glittery and gorgeous.. Yummy!!

You can see how shiny this card is!

The large spacer and the two smaller ones, and also the snowflake charm, are also from Quixotic Store. The sentiment is computer generated. Then I punched its corners with a circle punch, and I matted it to coordinate. The stars and brads are from my stash.

This is how I did the inside. Goodnight my friends and I'll be back tomorrow with another sneak peek :)

Quixotic Mini DT Challenge

Hello everyone!

Finally I am getting better, and can afford some time at my craft table. A couple of days ago I realised it would soon be time for the mothly Quixotic Mini DT challenge, and I started working on my project; just a couple of minutes everytime. The day finally arrived, and we're glad to present you our projects.

The idea is that Elaine chooses a stamp we'll be using, and we'll see what every one of the DT does with it: the more different, the better. Obviously for this project I used a lot of fabulous goodies that can be found at Quixotic Paperie online store, and which Elaine kindly added to my Guest DT package.

This month, the chosen stamp for this challenge is Danni - an Elisabeth Bell stamp for SCACD.

You can win a lovely prize in this mini DT blog hop. What do you have to do?

First you need to comment here, tell me what you think of my project, then I'll give you the rest of the DT blogs, you go and see what they did with this gorgeous stamp. Comment on each blog. On Wednesday, 28th October at 1pm UK time, Elaine will choose a random winner form one of our blogs. If that person is found to have commented to every DT posting with this stamp, she will win the prize!

What is the prize? Go and check for yourself on Elaine's blog. (You will fid the link below, in the end of the posting.)

Now again to my project. As you can see, I made a gift set with this lovely Danni : a card and a matching gift box. I used Papermania Bluberry Hill A4 paper pack (I find them lovely to be able to wrap boxes etc..)

I stamped Danni twice on watercolour paper, and coloured her with Distress Inks. I added some faux stitches and matted her on pink and green cardstock.

For the box I used lace and polka dotted ribbon, a lovely Princess crown charm from Quixotic, added some lovely raffia lace ribbon, Prima Country Elegance flowers, dew drops, and some green half pearls . Finally I added some branch punch-outs and those girlie hearts. Being a girlie project, I couldn't leave out some bling, so I added Stickles to the wings Danni's and the butterflies')and to Danni's clothes. The sentiment is computer generated. I filled the inside with some good chocolate coated nuts, but you could replace with anything.

For the card, I used the same papers, and followed A Spoon Full of Sugar Sketch. I left the image as the centrepiece, and instead of ribbon I used matching raffia lace; like the box.

I left the inside plain, embellished with more flowers and left the sentiment open for any occasion.

Now hop on to the other blogs, but if you'd like to be eligible for the prize, don't forget to leave a comment here as well ;)
Hop on now.. some other lovely makes await your comments :)

Have a lovely and safe week.
Smile!

Quixotic Gdt- A Teeneage Hello

I'm sorry I've been away for some days, I am running a fever at the moment, and I'm having hours of big, throbbing headaches, that leave me no choice other than to lie down in the dark and cover my eyes. It's been already three days, and I'm grounded in my room :))

But this morning I woke up not too bad (yesterday it was like this, but then in the afternoon the pain and the fever returned - Boo!)and I decided I wanted to finish this card I had started and upload it. This features Moody for Music; and it's one of the Paper Makeup Moody Girls that Elaine has in her lovely Store.

This is a close up of the image :) I coloured it in Copics, of which photo you will see at the end of the post. The sketch I used is from this week's Stamp with Fun, by Tina. The sentiment is from My Guy Ian set, by The Greeting Farm.

When I recieved it from Elaine as part of my GDT pack, I immediately thought of Teenage.. we all know their style, the different look.. the mood for loud banging music in their ears!! And I an see it can be put to good use from lots of us!! So f you like it, go and grab it while you can at Quixotic Store.. it's like being in a Candy Store there.. so many goodies to choose from!! To compliment the style I used Basic Grey's Lime Rickey paper pack, and some Lemon Raffia Lace.

I think it goes very well with most styles this type of lace, don't you think? At Elaine's you can find a large variety of colours and different ribbons and lace and tulle. We all love these goodies! :)

I embellished with Stickles, Prima flowers and Basic Grey buttons. To soften the corners I used lemon coloured dewdrops. This is the inside view, with the same DP, andnBasic Grey brads to match. Hearts stamp by Studio G. Huggies to all, and I hope that I'll be myself again in no time to have my creative juices flowing. Here I also need your humble prayers!

Take care .. and Smile!!!

Quixotic Paperie DT- Celebrate

How is your week going? Have the fresher (or warmer in the case of Australia) weather gotten you in the mood of playing more? Mine sure did.. it's cooler now, and you just have fun organising and colouring these babes. The stamp designers keep spoiling us more for choice, so even if you play the whole day.. it wouldn't be enough.

Click on the pictures for a better view.

Look at these Paper Make up stamps for instance.. they are so gorgeous.. and I can imagine this wonderful, joyful fairy celebrating life and the wonderful nature that surrounds us all the time! :) Especially during the Fall and Spring Season. And then.. those who are lucky enough to live near mountains.. they are a blessing when covered in snow. These are things that I don't get to see here, so I can only imagine them from here :)

As I had told you some time ago, this month I'm Guest Designing for Quixotic Paperie. Those of you who have never visited Elaine's online Store, and her own creations; girl you are losing something! She has also a very talented DT, and it's my pleasure to be able to join them.. altough four weeks are just a few!! :(

I based this creation on Sketch Saturday's sketch, and as you noticed I'm still in the Orange, Green and Brown mood. If you remember I used these for the ROP challenge this week, and I thought that with the lovely MME papers Bloom and Grow.. they would be the perfect touch.Cute Card Thursday want to see charms.. and I have it here as well :) This Fairy's name is Melissa, and as I told you she's happy and dancing. Look at the lovely movement that is captured in this stamp: her skirt, her feet and arms.. lovely indeed! And did you see how she has got her hair also in green to go with her lovely colours? Elaine has these gorgeous stamps here, with all the other Beautiful Day Fairies in this range. You can also keep checking here for some more creations with them.

I coloured Melissa in Copics, and then I gave her polka dots with the white highlighter. I also used Eucalyptus and stardust stickles to give her some shine. Added some also to the side of her face, and her ballerina shoes.

I added some ribbon and lace underneath, and tied a mushroom charm, which you can find with lots of lovely other charms at Quixotic. I popped some green half pearls (found here) and some dewdrops (chocolate coloured) from my stash. The "joy" word is a rub-on I added, and the "Celebrate the Everyday" was computer generated. I thought it really fited this fairy cute image! :) She makes me smile everytime I look at her! :)

For the inside I used another piece of the lovely MMe paper, and for the bottom part, a piece of DCWV mat stack I have. I used some lace and dewdrops again, and added some Country Elegance flowers for a final touch. The flower centre is a gorgeous Basic Grey brad. I added a jotting piece, where I doodled some faux stitches, added some gems and voila! My creation is finished.

I hope you like it, and that you go and check Elaine's lovely store for these beauties. You won't be disappointed.. I warn you..your wallet will though! :)
Have a lovely week, and thank you for the lovely messages you leave me. I just smile for hours after I check my mail :) God bless!
