HAnglar for Sketch Challenge

Hello everyone! How is your weekend going? Mine is fine until now.. and I plan on catching up a bit! I am still using the images I had coloured when I was away :)Actually I have some stamps waiting to be inked up: the Magnolia horse I had won from Bev's Simon says Candy, and the Gorjuss set I won from the Sugar Bowl challenge. They are patiently waiting!! :)

Now for today's card. As you see I made another head-start card for Christmas, with this HAnglar beautiful image. Thank you for my friends that sent me these HAnglar images.. they are soo cute.. and so hard to find :)

I made this card for a Sketch challenge that the talented Kellie Winnell is making on her blog. The prize is some Motivet stamps.. and oh how gorgeous they are! Honestly I really like them, and the DT make some lovely cards with them :) If you never seen Motivet stamps, go and check them out here.

I coloured with Distress Inks, and used a white gel pen for highlights, and Souffle pens for making some dimension in the pompoms and on the glittery part of the hat. Last step (when the card was finished) I added stardust Stickles on the hats, Cinnamon and Baby Blue Stickles on the pompoms. Then I added some Candy Cane on the cloth of that pretty basket full of yummies the girl is holding. On the kettle and the cups and othet bits they are holding I put Crystal Lacquer, for some more dimension and shine :) The snowflakes of the image are rub-ons. I embellished the two opposite corners with a small silver star brad.

Behind the image, if you check, there is a doily lace, which I distressed with Faded Jeans ink, and a foam sponge. Prima flowers, Basic Grey brad and some flower buttons embellish the top right hand corner. The blue rhinestones are popped in the middle with glue dots. They came out good, what you think?

In this photo I want to show you a small polymer clay angel I added, isn't he cute?? lol I love his smile :). The bottom sentiment is a rub on, and I matted the CS after I punched the edges for some design.

On the inside I used a Basic Grey paper, then matted a piece of the DP I used on the front, and on top I placed a piece of the same velveted organza ribbon which I had also used on the front.

With an X-Cut punch I punched a couple of large snowflakes, and two others from the blue cardstock. I cut the middle piece of the latter ones, and popped them on the others for dimnsion. Finally i added a blob of silver Stickles on these and left to dry.

Next, I punched three more snowflakes form some remaining pieces of CS, again cut the middle part, and layed them on a piece of white CS. I sponged Antique Linen Distress Ink, and Brushed Courduroy on top of that.. the second ink just in the outer parts of the CS. While i went round I changed the snowflakes' places, to result in a border around the jotting piece. As you can see I added a sentiment in the middle, and some Anita's glitterations I bought from our local craft shop, Craft Mania.

Dewdrops and Silver Stickles made the final touch, and voila! Phew.. that was a long explanation! :)

A side view of the card.

Blog Candy time!! :) / Hanglar Christmas

Okay, this didn't take me long to do... few hours is better than two days! :) But I LOVE these Hanglar beauties, but oh dear... it takes me quite some time to make myself colour them in! :)Thanks Lim for these lovely images! This darling is from the Winter kit, I have read, and they are soo lovely to shade and embellish. I am trying to send my Christmas cards this week, but I write my message on Traditional cards... these "cuties stuff" don't show the REAL Christmas spirit, so I send them additionally as a gift. Coloured the image with watercolours. Short post this morning, cause I have lots to catch up with!!

You may have even been a kid.. doesn't matter. Shared your stuff, gave something to someone out of love.. anything! We all have good in us, and we need each other to make more courage to do some more good in our small world. As for me..

I remember that even though as a kid we weren't a "rich" family (as dad died when I was seven). I used to be very attentive not to make mum buy me a lot of stuff.. we needed money for more important things ( I used to think.)But nonetheless I really used to be sensitive for those kids around me who didn't have sweets, and especially at Christmas time I used to collect all the sweets and small presents I used to get, and give them to my classmates that were poor, or were a bit neglected. I never forgot the lovely feeling sharing gives me.

I will draw the prize on Friday 19th Dec. 21.00 European time. Will ship worldwide.

Whew such a long post today!! :)

Challenge 7 at CCC- Christmas Theme

This is the next theme at the CCC blog, and as I told you before, I wished to use Katharina's lovey sketch again. This time the base card I used was rectangular, instead of square card. The main image , that of Edwin dressed up for Christmas, is cut with Nestabilities. I mounted on red scalloped card. For the bottom I used a piece of DP from my stash, good way of using scraps :)

At the bottom, I decorated a strip of the same DP used with red crossed ribbon, after being mounted on white then green cardstock. The main image is embellished with adhesive green gems and I doodled some words that, for me, are the best part of the Christmas Spirit :)

Recipe:

Green and white cardsock
Edwin image
Circle and Scalloped circle Nestabilities
DCWV text prints
Red organza Ribbon
Two way glue
Fine silver glitter
Star brads
Green self adhesive gems
Black fine pen

I do wish that sharing, family, peace, joy, presents and love are true gifts from the heart that we all find delight to shower upon our loved ones( and not only to these) not only during one festive season or another, but all through the year. They make life so much more pleasant and lovely to live.
God bless

Tilda & Co challenge Card

*Challenge 32* Cold as ice...

The sun is now drifting away very fast and soon it will be as cold as ice....

Using the colours Blue & white Only . Show us how cold your projects can feel this week.

This week was a hard one, I was a bit tired and although my mojo didn't have a holiday, my spirits regarding crafting did - I could'nt find any energy to make this card.. today I promised myself that I HAD to make it!!

This week Tilda's Challenge Blog asked us to use blue and white, and the card had to be related to "Cold". And what's more cold than Snow? Another Christmas related card, but I like it :)

As usual the Scan doesn't make justice to the real feel of the card, but here it is!
I used:
White, Dark blue and a small piece of silver cardstock
DCWV Text Prints Matt Stack
DP from stash
Tilda Image
Nestabilities and Big Shot
Sizzix Stars and swirls embossing folder
Snowflake designed Vellum
White and light blue organza ribbon
Pearl Brad
Fiskars Texture Plate (to hand emboss the heap of snow Tilda is sitting on)
Rayher Felt Snowflakes
Pastel Chalks and blue and white inkpads (for inking edges and making a "snowy" feel around the base layers)

It took me quite a long time to finish it, but I'm happy with the result. I wish to find some more time for another challenge or two.. who knows, maybe tomorrow? We''ll see!
Thanks for visiting dear friend, and may the Blessing of God fill your heart.
