If you were.. Friday sketchers

Hello my friend! I'm finally back, and even though we're still not ready from all the refurbishing in the house; I couldn't keep much more without making a card! So I chose one of the already coloured images and decided to make Friday sketchers challenge. I also saw another challenge which had bows and buttons as a theme. Will have to check which one was it, and if it 's still running will enter it for that as well. Will update the post when I do; but I don't have much more time to take part in Friday Sketchers.. so I had to blog this now! :)

Another angle of the card. I played a bit with Photoshop to make this effect! ;)

I used this gorgeous Magnolia for my card, and coloured it to match the Wisteria paper pack. I love the soft blues and strong purples together. I coloured her in my Distress inks, and then decorated the edges with a Rayher flourish stamp, which I purchased today :) I also added some flower centres and silver buttons, and a round Stampin' Up sentiment in the bottom. I was very loyal to the sketch this time, don't you think! ;)

For the inside I used another paper like the one I used on the front, and a piece of what was left of the flowery paper. I added some flowers, a computer generated sentiment in some nesties and some Bling- It from Basic Grey. In the centres ofthe flowers I used large dew drops from Robin's Nest. They look fab - always!

I'm off to have some sleep now. I hope that you're in good health and feeling fine, even though it's sooo hot.. at least here. I hope that you like it.. and that I'll hear from you, letting me what you think of my Maggie here :) You can find many lovely Magnolias and most of the things I used for this card at Roses on Paper. Summer's store is always brimming with so many yummies that I never tire using. I left you direct links, and by clicking on them you'll be taken directly to the section of Summer's store where you can find it. You can also find the latest Magnolia Pet Collection, which I know many of you are dying to ink up! :) I do so hope that i manage to keep up with some challenges, while taking the kids out almost everyday for their summer holidays! I do so wish that winter is here :) I hate feeling so tired with all this heat all the time!!

Last, but not least I wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my fellow DT members of Roses on Paper and Belles & Whistles: Peta and Jodi, which just had thier birthdays :) I hope you had a lovely day my lovely friends. I am two cards behind! yikes!! sorry girls, I'll make up!! :) Big bear hugs sent to you!

A close up of my Maggie :)

Absolutely Wonderful!

That's how my weekend was, and that was Sonya's sketch this week for a Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge. I'm sorry I was away for another week since I last blogged, but I had a very busy week, and I was offered a weekend break in our sister island, Gozo :) Definitely I had to say yes :) There were 7 of us, but we had such a great time! I definitely needed some me-time, and had some time to play as well. I got to visit the island's lovely craft shop : Binky Crafts. Made quite some shopping over there as well ; It is also an online shop for international customers, so if you want to take a peek, you'll find some goodies there as well.

Anyway, I did this card while I was there. Thanks Sonya for the lovely sketch.Unfortunately yesterday when I came back I had to clear all the things I had with me, and in the evening I was too tired to blog this card. Now I'm too late for the challenge!! Luckily I decided to go for the pink and brown colour combo, as I really love it.. as it tastes "chocolatey" and also because it's Charizma cards' and ISB challenge's colour challenge for the week.. I'm still in time for this one though!! Thank you for the lovely and kind comments I found when I came back. It's always a pleasure to hear from all of you, and you always make my day!!

EDITED TO READ: Oh my, ain't I the luckiest girl on the planet?! :) Simon says Stamp has a new challenge going on today (Wednesday).. the theme is.. Pink and Brown!!! :) Yippee.. so this goes for that challenge as well!

Blessings on you and your loves ones. I'm ready and charged for more. Whoever wants to contact me, I'll be delighted to hear from you. You can also use my e mail address, which you'll find in my sidebar. Have a calm and lovely week :)

Magnolia vs Stampavie- 1st Challenge

As you know Donna has combined two of the Challenge Blogs into one, and the 1st challenge set in this new Magnolia vs Stampavie Challenge blog is a lovely sketch set by Jayjay! This is one lovely sketch that tempts you right away to try it out, at least it had that effect on me! :) But it took me 3 days to finish this card.. bit by bit. 1st I drew an image of Tilda with the balloons, but after I finished it and embellished the image with doodles etc.. I figured out that it was too tall to fit the sketch!

Anyway i put it away to use it another time. then I had this Tilda on a framed rectangle, and as I was sponging the outer sides I managed to do quite some blotches, which I didn't like at all!! So I cut around it! I think it worked well after all!! Now, before I uploaded the post I took the photos and edited them. When all was set to be uploaded, I noticed that I had forgotten to colour the wings!!! Oh my dear!! Off to remedy!!

... Now that's better!! Here you go!! I think Tilda is shaking her head... is she??! lol I must be off to bed I think! :)
Anyway.. I hope you like it!

Dp is from K & Co
Flowers from stash
Rayher Pastel mini brads
Sentiment form Brenda Walton - K & co
Glitter glue for wings
glitter pens for spots on top and hair band
Ribbon from stash
heart ws with susie's prize, sorry don't know

I'm sure that many of you will try this sketch out, as all the stamps that can be used at this new Challenge Blog are very much loved by all of us! Thanks for looking friends, and Peace to you and all your families ;)

A warmer feeling!

Today I'm going to share with you another Earth Palette coloured card.. Featuring the gorgeous Penny Black animals :)
I love these colours, don't you?? :)
For an idea I started from a sketch from the very talented Katharina.. and added some more from there. I used HOTP papers and another striped I had in my stash... and water coloured the image on the same colur shades to match the DP.

I also worked on the base paper with some distress inks and Studio G clear stamps (adding some swirls ).

The bubbles and the cup in the image are heat embossed with clear powder added with glitter and then layered on brown glittery cardstock and then dark green. On top, before I made the final layer, I ued a Border punch to make the heart border. Finally stamped the PB sentiment on a left over base striped DP and cut with nesties, adding another scalloped frame from another piece of DP that is used in the card.

I finished by adding some baubles (that's how they are called are they??) :)
and some faux stitching.

Thanks for taking time to look. I hope you like it and that it inspires you to use these PB lovely images. Thanks Jilly for sending me this cutie image!!

In my thoughts- Anki's Sketch ~1

My friend Anki decided to have a go at sketches, and being one of my favourites on my Blogroll, I decided to give it a go! :)
And here, I present you... my first real stitched card! :) Machine stitched... not hand stitched this time! :)
The stitches in the main image are faux, but the DP and the panel are done with the machine. It is a different card from ones I usually do, and I still didn't decide if I like it as much as the others or not... but this is what I came with!! ;)

For this card I decided to use a differnet technique (I never did it before at least!)
I cut two large leaves which were meant for decoupage, and I corrugated them before I stuck them to the card. After I placed both, I punched a large and some small flowers, and did the same. I think it added to the texture and different feel it gave to the flower.

After that, I added some bling to the flowers with a glitter pen. I also doodled a bit with glitter on the door.
Obviously Edwin's wings and star on his clothes are also embellished with glitter glue.

I used :green and purple cardstock
K-Ology DP
Magnolia House and Edwin images
Green silk ribbon
Purple flower and brad from stash
Small punched flowers and mini brads
Shake-it decoupage sheets for leaves
Sewing machine
Corrugating paper machine (for leaves and flowers)
Black staz-on ink pad
In my thoughts~ Studio G stamp for sentiment
Silver glitter glue

Hope you are having a happy and crafting weekend.
God bless you all :)
